@@edwardspencer9397 you do know that we learn at least a second language in school right? Generally there's no one else around that makes those languages relevant (unless you learn Spanish and live in the southwest, or something like that) so the second language often falls out of practice pretty easily (and fun fact the US doesn't actually have a official language). I keep forgetting Europe is just a bunch of high schoolers waiting to jump on America for any slip up so they can laugh instead of focusing on fixing what they didn't understand.

Well that's how news work. Like in school you learn how to write a basic report (be straight but not harsh, include all Information, sort for importancy). I am actually stunned how weird the other news are made... Like you learn how to prepare that, after all you read it off a pronpter, sb will write that and has time to do it correctly. They feel so unpreprared and unprofessional, more like a person in a Talkshow than a news Broadcast.

In German everyday culture, it is a form of politeness, to get straight to the point, thus not wasting the time of others. This is especially true for important information, like when a very important person has died. It also puts aside your own importance, when delivering news, and emphasises the importance of the news and the person its about.
@NoctLightCloud
@NoctLightCloud 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting! That is not the case in the political as well as business sector where the German speaking world is unfortunately adopting the US American model of never getting to the point and talking without actually saying something.
@DLT-po6to
@DLT-po6to 2 жыл бұрын
@@NoctLightCloud Well politicians will be politicians. Only few ever get to the point. I'd say that's an international phenomenon, though. But the german business sector not being straight to the point? What the heck are you on about? I can tell you it's usually no nonsense and straight to the point. There is no small talk, they are professional and friendly but they won't waste any time to make the deal and move on to the next. I do business all over europe and i know that business in germany and scandinavia usually is quicker and more efficient than in southern europe for example. In italy or spain it's not rare to wait a few days to even get a response to an inquiry. While the same thing may only take a few mails and half an hour to complete with the danish. That's just how it often is. And i love those differences, that's europe.

Well it actually depends on the country. In Thailand when they say "The Queen" they mean the queen of Thailand, and in Jordan when they say "The Queen" they mean the queen of Jordan. The reason that the queen was called "The Queen" in so many countries was because she was queen of the Commonwealth realms. That meant that Queen Elizabeth was "The Queen" everywhere from Canada, to the Bahamas, to Australia, to New Guinea.

She was recognised as 'The Queen' around the world, the most influential queen, most influential woman in last 70 years not just in the UK but around the world that commanded the respect of every leader of every country. For they didn't just see a woman but a powerful woman, that dedicated her life to service, showed strong leadership, and gave hope to those around the world. You be very hard pressed find another woman or man willing to put duty to country and people before personal ambition. The ultimate influencer that didn't need an Instagram/Twitter account to have a positive effect on millions around the world. There won't be another woman, leader or celebrity that will ever achieve what she did in her 70 years of dedicated service. Immortalised around the world not just the UK.

True. The French broadcast was also from exactly the same time. Only the Italian and American clips came from the moment the Palace made the statement. However, nevertheless they only had half an hour to prepare with confirmation being at 19:30 Berlin time. Nevertheless, as everyone says it is so direct and straight to the point. No messing about. Mostly through the additional tourism they draw in. A couple of years ago, Forbes estimated that they contribute £19 billion to the UK economy every year. Sure that's an estimate, but it's 20 times more than they gain from the tax payer to help run things. And I suggest you look up what "soft power" is. Just wanna mention that the German Broadcast here was never interrupted. It was the standard 20.00 / 8 PM News Show, the Queen's Death was just the first part (after the introduction seen here they proceeded to show a more throughout report talking about her life, the entire thing took up half of the show's duration though) The only thing that differentiated this death announcement from the others this news show does is the length of the report (around 8 minutes, while the show only runs till 8.15 PM) And that instead of being the last before weather and sports, it was the very first news of the show.

What a remarkable lady. She devoted her whole life to our service, united our country, became a worldwide icon and showed us her warmth and passion through the thousands of interactions and engagements she had with the public. Her incredible personality and gratitude will be heavily missed. She's lived a life that we will never be able to comprehend. Her personal life and family matters were heavily covered and scrutinised by the media and through all the difficulties she overcame in her long and illustrious life, she kept pushing on until her final hours. It's hard to imagine life without Queen Elizabeth, she has always been there for everyone. She always put the public first and got on with the job. We took her for granted and never realised just how much she meant to all of us until she finally passed. As the nation mourns, let us be glad that through the most unexpected twists in the history of the monarchy, Princess Elizabeth became our Queen and for the last 70 years, she has been a beacon of light, a breath of fresh air and the greatest monarch the world has ever seen. She may be someone's daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but she also happened to be the greatest Queen of all time who has left a gigantic void that will never be filled ever again. If you have any problem with that, we'll find out where you live and delete your country from the map. We are the world. Well, not the French. They only have a cute accent. And maybe not the Italians, although their pizza is something. Oh, and the Americans don't even exist anymore. They have fallen into thousands of micro tribes. So, I guess it all comes down to us in Black, Red and Gold again to lead the world. Gosh, that's a lot of pressure, but we accept the challenge.
