What I learned from this is... His Dad play a major role in him... He got a great father!!collecting books and makes his children read every books he collect! While the country got poor education at that time,his dad able to give his children a great education and proper exposure about the world without ever knowing it.Positive attitude really breeds positive rewards!! Definitely I will do the same to my family.Love it!!

Parenting is one of the biggest factors in success. I'd probably be a billionaire if I had a better family. Instead, I spent years in a psychological war, before I could succeed. I've sworn an oath to not repeat my father's negligence and belittlement-- to be a good parent. My kids will probably be able to do more with their lives, than I could with mine, simply because none of it will be spent in a time-consuming mental war. And the people that had a bad childhood, but never fight their war? They wind up as permalosers. We've all seen those.

I'm an Indian but what I'm going to say is from entrepreneur stand point- this is the best interview you've every done. No one else dropped so much value to an entrepreneur as much this guy did. He's really technical. I'd like to see how this guy is in terms of leadership building. I feel like he is more technical than anything else. He sounds like a classic engineer type of guy. Since I was only able to graduate in economics, I'm a lot less technical but he does give a lot of specific information. For me, I enjoy listening to people who talk about how to grow leadership and discipline as that's my own focus.

@ujjawalaggarwal99856 жыл бұрын
This was literally the best interview that has come over in a while! Totally loved it!
@VALUETAINMENT6 жыл бұрын
Interesting. What was your biggest takeaway?
@ujjawalaggarwal99856 жыл бұрын
Actually quite a few, I couldn't decide what takeaways to write and what to leave so I filled all in!!: 1) I liked the concept of "Identify where the money is" that Divyank constantly stresses about. 2) The concept of trying to do more of what one is good at is not new but Divyank took it to a whole new level by licencing core competencies to competitors and minimizing weak spots like sales. I totally loved this viewpoint. 3) Divyank systematically deciphers the process of getting into a new industry: GROWING niche-> growing large in niche to the point that you can compete with industry giants -> vertical and horizontal integration. 4) 'Go where everyone is making money' was a important advice for me since I gravitate a lot towards things that no one has done. 5) How do you research an industry? This was a big question that I had. The interview gave me a good insight. 6) The feature prioritization strategy that Divyank recommended was quite nice. It was similar to what the Lean startup book recommends but more practical, especially in my particular case. 7) The way Divyank thinks about resources i.e. whatever you have you have to use to full optimality and hence however big you get you always have limited resources; this line of thought really impressed me. 8) The collaboration mentality is something I never understood, but this interview helped me a lot. 9) When the youngest self made billionaire in India talks about importance of patience, you know that it is important! 10) Lastly, I loved his attitude. At the time of a crucial deal with yahoo when there was nothing he could do, most CEOs might have sleepless nights just worrying about the deal. This guy was instead flying helicopters!! Totally the attitude that I am trying to get to!

Guarantee there is something in that mindset that makes him attract talent and genuinely helps others reach their peak potential. btw...I bet 95% of MBA students couldn't communicate these concepts off the top of their head.

just an observation: PBD's microphone should be on the side where he is most likely going to turn to speak to the guest. The audio quality dissipates during this interview because the lavalier is on the opposite side. Great lessons learned from this interview. Awesome channel.
@longtran16995 жыл бұрын
The audio dissipates is because of the denoiser effect that was added on. I'm assuming they did that is because when filming there was a lot of noise that was picked up during the interview

I just read "Your Next 5 moves" Here's His Next Moves Are When He's starting a new business 1/He first identifies where the money is in any industry - 2/He identifies what are his strengths and weakness in that industry - 3/He identifies who’s the big player in that industry & How much profits and growth they’re making 4/He observes the growth segments in that industry, what’s flat, what’s declining, what’s booming 5/He identifies top - 5 niche in that industry that is growing fastest and making more money 6/He picks one niche out of those 5 and finds out a way to use his core strengths 7/He studies other successful businesses in his industry. He understands what they did right and wrong. He finds a way to use what worked for them 8/He covers as much ground as possible in that industry so that he can make better decisions 9/He thinks about his business globally and how he can use people from other countries to grow his business 10/He creates a 5-year action plan on how he’s gonna be big in that industry 11/He commits his next 5-20 years of his life learning, growing, and evolve into the person that he needs to be in order to be massive in that industry 12/He identifies what feature will make his customer money and what will save his customers money in that niche that he choose 13/He builds a product for his niche and asks his customers(In that niche) If they’re willing to pay what he’s built for them 14/He finds ways to use strategic partnership so that he can help his niche better than anyone and also make money 15/He specializes in that niche & he keeps growing in that niche until he has made a position for himself to dominate other space in that industry

biggest take away for me is to implement transparency and normalized margins from the get go with customers. Exactly what is on my mind today! .... oh and at the end the part about being a perfectionist will slow you down.
