He took time off when his new baby was born and decided he didn't feel like going back to work hoping KZbin would pay their bills. Garren quit a few months after when they (according to Garren) asked him to choose between working there and the KZbin channel participation. Trey fired some guy he had just hired to work with him giving the job to Garren in the end.

Nobody "got them fired". Just like in this video...nobody actually "catfished" them even if they were lied to and they didn't lose even one dollar, let alone $100,000. My wife was working retail and had this Indian guy tell her that he owned several hotels and that he could offer myself “head of security” at his west coast Florida hotel, at $200,000/yr.. it was very strange.
