The agents were abrupt and fairly rude....and they LOVED to stare and lear at my female companions - to the point they said they felt uncomfortable. They are there to make us feel safe, yet I felt a coldness and came away wondering how much money is being wasted with that damn thing. Cartels are INSANELY smart and connected. At checkpoints you do not have to answer any questions. They do not have a right to search your car without a warrant or probable cause. Do not pull into any station or area they tell you to pull into. Ask “am I being detained or am I free to go?” And if they say “you are not being detained and free to go?”. If they say you are under detainment or not free to go. Ask for a supervisor and call any superior you can. You can also just remain silent or keep asking if you’re free to go. This pertains to all races and nationalities.

Immigration and Nationality Act of 1946 does great Boarder patrol the power by law. The law granted immigration agents the authority “to interrogate any alien or person believed to be an alien as to his right to be or to remain in the United States” and to “board and search for aliens any vessel within the territorial waters of the United States and any railway car, aircraft, conveyance, or vehicle.” It was later determined by the Federal courts that they have a 100 mile range from a natural boarder.

Maybe if Americans were a bit more " worldly" and knew what it was like to live in a country where you dont have rights then they might not be so willing to give them away without question or protest. Live in a place where the police dont need a warrant to enter and search your home. Where the police can demand ID for no reason and arrest you for not complying. Where a man can be jailed for delivering a pizza or entering a library , attending his grandsons christening or maybe a place where putting up a Christmas tree is a death penalty offence. Legal Mexican immigrants hate these people the most because they bothered to go through the bullshit to immigrate legally. It's a massive border that will not be able to be completely controlled until we have robots or some shit, but we have to enforce the border. Excuse me sir are you a legal us resident? Why yes sir I am. Great may I see your ID? Yes. Thank you for your cooperation have a great day Oh no the oppression!!!! How about we be thankful for the men and women putting their lives on the line to protect our country's borders

Parker Bollinger .. ahh, excuse me, they get pay, and receive benefits.. they don't do it for free you know.. anyway, they should stop white people too, everyone, there's a lot of white people without papers, but because of the south border, is all about brown people. In my point of view I don't care which country they're coming from. Border should be closed for all.. we need 3, 4, 10 years, without open borders, I don't care how long it, but we need to fix the country first.. you can't be a foster parent when you have a dysfunctional family unit and have critical problems at home, same rules should apply and be enforced for our country.

Citlali Tobon thank you for educating me that law enforcement get paid to do their jobs, I thought they just volunteered out of the kindness of their hearts🤣 the idea that there is even a detectable amount of unlawful European peoples in our country is laughable. Yes these cops profile brown skinned people because it's the brown skin people that are crossing our Southern border illegally. This isn't rocket science

Parker Bollinger I don’t think anyone is disagreeing they should check when they are crossing the border but if you live in the town and your constantly pulled over and asked for your ID in the 100 mile range wouldn’t you be angry too

Heyaw Meteke No, I believe my first comment makes that clear, they're the people putting their lives on the line potentially getting shot by some gang banger, I don't see how stopping you for 10 minutes is such an inconvenience unless you're an illegal immigrant, in which case they should stop and detain you
@parkerbollinger72796 жыл бұрын
We need to put these checkpoints in all 50 states, in my opinion they're extremely effective, illegal immigrants need to travel too

I guess if there is a problem here, I missed it. I live in southern New Mexico. If I travel in any direction from my city, I pass through a check point. I've done it hundreds of times and don't see the problem. I suppose you could consider it a minor inconvenience but if it helps keep out drugs and illegals, I happy to put up with it. In fact, I appreciate the fact that those agents are there doing their job. We'll see how diligent these border check point observers are this summer when the temperature reaches 100 or higher. It'll be interesting to see if they want to sit out in that sun then. It's a piece of cake this time of year and if they have nothing better to do with their time, more power to them.

My gosh the fact that they are wasting government resources by suing ICE is despicable. Do they not understand that they're simply doing their job

For 1 that is not ICE that is the Boarder Patrol and if you want to get rid of that check point then a big beautiful wall needs to be built.

Let's hope the agents get more aggressive. They are Illegally here - a violation of Federal law. As the biker said about the checkpoint - less drugs, less crime, less break-ins. Go President Trump - send them back if they are here illegally.

"The hundred mile zone".....Do people realize that there are literally millions of us living within 100 miles of the border? I live in El Paso and we have 600,000 people here and we all see and go through the checkpoints regularly. In all the years since these checkpoints were started, they only problems seem to be in a few small towns in Arizona. Ive never been asked anything other than if I am a US citizen and never been asked for proof. Ive also never been searched and dont know of anyone who has been treated badly. Keep in mind that El Paso is the busiest border in the country so if there are problems, they should be here. Im pretty sure this is a management issue in Arizona that probably boils down to a small number of incompetent individuals. Nothing wrong with standing up against poor treatment and zealous officials but when the news media portrays this as a national issue as if the border patrol is some kind of evil organization, it almost guarantees to real problems won't get looked at. Good luck, AZ!

Speaking as someone who grew up on the border in one state and now live a few feet from the border in another state, I can unequivocally state that these checkpoints, to the extent that they become entrenched fixtures at specific points along any highway are completely worthless... here's why. Drug & human smugglers know exactly where they are, know exactly when the dogs are on duty, know when the lazy shift starts and know exactly when the checkpoint is closed. Today, with everyone carrying cell phones, signals from a lead car are so easy. So the smugglers know when to go thru the checkpoint and when to go around it. The only real way for checkpoints to work is to make them truly random. 8 hrs here, then 8 hrs somewhere else.... but the BP has gotten lazy, preferring to choose a spot they think is a choke point. Ha... no such thing for smugglers. This video is proof. These "citizens" know every move the BP make at that checkpoint. If they know, don't you think the multi-billion drug smuggling industry knows too !! My issue is that I feel the BP should ask every single person that crosses thru the checkpoint their citizenship status. Otherwise it amounts to discrimination based on skin color.

What I don’t understand is WHY can’t the license plates be scanned on approach, so the boarder agents already know who the vehicle belongs to, local or visitor, and have a simple simple random or unique situation pull over for a quick check. If a local is just going about their day, flash a green light and send them on their way.

I live in the 100 mile zone. I’ve passed through that arrivaca checkpoint dozens of times. Never ONCE have I ever been asked to prove my status. They take you at your word almost 100% of the time. But I’m not a Mexican American citizen.
