+MythicalRedFox at this point it is preachy. The world is currently so obsessed with gender politics that if you're going to celebrate only one gender its preachy. Not to mention the shit about "The real discovery was made by rosalin franklin" If you investigate that further that's bull. Her work had influence on the works of watson and crick but she most certainly did not make the discovery. This video was engineered to show the great women of science and make it seem like they have been ignored or ripped off. But it's not true, women have always been celebrated in science. The issue is that the more freedom you give women, the less stress and pressure they have to advance science, they less they care about it. In first world nations we have created so many less serious jobs, media, fashion, creative writing, environment shit, GENDER STUDIES. The fact is women have the choice to go into those and they take it. Men have pressure on them to be leaders and advance society so they stay in the sciences. Sorry this got ranty lol. But the point is, this video did have a message and was made for millennial feminists specifically

Hey, thanks for making a good video about women in science which doesn't push an agenda. It's true that many female scientists have been less celebrated at least partially due to their sex, so it's all nice to see their work recognised. I know people are calling this feminist propaganda, but it's not, you're simply informed us about women in science without trying to add any ideological spin. So yeah, good job.

If you can't find a video on men in science yourself you need to learn how to use the internet. It's not hard, just search KZbin for "famous scientists" and you'll find videos with solely/mostly men in. Which is fine. It's not like every freaking video needs to make sure it proportionally represents the population.

Wow way to prove the fact that the feminist side always just jumps to groundless name calling. But more importantly, he has a point. Feminism is ridiculous right now and this video is clearly made for the feminist millennials. This channel has thus far remained out of such trivial nonsense to talk about science and be informative. Yet the nonsense about rosalind franklin having made the "real discovery" is bullshit. Her findings did help watson and crick absolutely she deserves a mention. But to say she made the discovery is dishonest. Which is why I too think this is Life Noggin crossing a line. they made a fictional narrative with a female victim to appeal to women like yourself, rather than speak the truth.

I would like to add to the list someone perhaps lesser known to the general public: *Emmy Noether*. She made great contributions to mathematics, especially abstract algebra, as well as theoretical physics, and has been described by many prominent scientists (including Einstein) as the most important woman in the history of mathematics. It cannot be overstated how important her contributions are, as her work about symmetry is one of the major tools we use to reason about theories in physics, even today.

I really don't understand all the hate in the comments. Is your ego really so fragile that as soon as a video focuses on...God forbid...WOMEN, you automatically throw up your defenses and hurl insults because a video focuses on...*gasp*...WOMEN, and maybe even *wheeze* FEMINISM! OH THE HORROR OF EQUALITY AND RECOGNITION (which includes equality for men as well! Don't stereotype feminists because of what you see in the media!). I, for one, had never heard of ANY if the female scientists in this video, but I've heard of almost half of the male scientists mentioned in this video. For all of you saying, "How about a MEN'S video, huh?" and "Oh no, feminists are taking over!"' First of all, I would hardly call this a feminism video. It's the same as watching a men's basketball documentary, or a video about a group of male scientists who did amazing things. Second of all, even if it WAS a feminism video, is it not true that female scientists are not talked about as often? In school, I hardly ever hear of them. Lastly, I am NOT a man-hater. Y'all are cool, boys. You deserve to be able to have the same expectations as a woman, whether it be with showing emotions or wanting to pursue a career that men wouldn't typically pursue. I believe in total equality and no-discrimination or disrespect towards either sex. But for real. Come on, people. Im speaking to both men AND women, here. Are your egos really THAT fragile? If women have the spotlight in a four-minute video, do you automatically feel threatened because some women are getting recognized and you just can't have that? Don't make feminism something it's not. Whatever bad stuff you see in the media about feminists, ignore it. It's about EQUALITY, not superiority. Good day and God bless.

Not sure why a good portion of comments deal around why Noggin is showcasing women scientist. Yes men and women are created equal, we all know that. However, The scientific world is bombarded with men that has made advancements most of which we already know. This is a good reason why the video is about scientist women. Its a challenger to the makers of the video and more insightful in the long run. Dont judge knowledge because of your political correctness, be appreciative that you have access to any at all

TheLeadSpitter I didn't mean everyone. I only meant spammers and people who talk shit. And honestly mast girls use KZbin only to watch those ,,KZbin gurus" and shit. I meant if they knew that comments would get harsh and sexist they could just deal with it that way. I can easily deal with all the criticism I get. I just want to say what I think. ( Which you are not allowing me to do, which is against free speech then, by your opinion how I understand) I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just wanted to say what I thought. I thought It would be the best way to deal with offensive comments. I don't personally care what other people think. Peace. Bye Bye.

Henrietta Lacks. Though she wasn't a scientist, it was her genes that made the game changing HeLa cells. She had cancer and went to a doctor who was taking samples from his patients without consent. (50's logic everyone.) At the time he was working on keeping cells alive outside of a body. Also known as trying to keep cell samples alive and reproducing in a lab setting. The first ones that worked, were HeLa. The doctor became famous, a millionaire, and Henrietta's family never earned a penny. Millions of her cells were sent out across the world, and are still being experimented on to this day. Technically, her genetic material is still alive, and has earned the nickname, the immortal woman.
