Ted Bundy never would’ve been caught except for one thing: he was a terrible driver.

That! And he was always nervous about encountering cops. He’s a narcissist at heart, so he thought that he could talk his way out of any situation.

1:10 That's the question I ask every time this sentence is dropped: Who fits into the profile of a serial killer until he's caught?
@Haugs222 ай бұрын
As time goes on, the basis for a “profile” improves with more historical data In the 70’s, not many serial killers would fit a profile because not many profiles had been established. More serial killers occur, more historical profiles, therefore increasing likelihood a new criminal would fit an established type.

I actually been searching for this since I want this topic to be my thesis statement
@Loralanthalas9 ай бұрын
I find it fascinating how many serial killers have been caught that cops DON'T know about. "We thought one and ended up finding 12 bodies. Durh durh." Happens more often than ACTUALLY looking for someone killing groups of people. Maybe its because cops think people who disappear who stop using their SSN and stop using their bank accounts have just decided to go live a life of illegal means becuase they no longer want to earn money and report it to IRS. This system is MADE for killers.

Some people just give the benefit of the doubt, especially towards people who are seen as "good community members" "upstanding intelligent people" or someone they know well. They try to rationalize that maybe it's rotten food maybe it's a dead animal under the house maybe there's plumbing problems, ect. I mean if you smell something funky do you immediately think dead body? Even if it smells like death most people rationalize that as maybe rotten meat (a common excuse Jeffrey Dahmer used) or dead animals that may have died under the house (another excuse dahmer used and one that could have worked for jwg)

Do you think that Jeffery Dahmer had some sort of resentment towards his younger brother and that’s why he had younger victims as well?
@ChristcentredNaturalgee Жыл бұрын
I don’t know
@toffiet3347 Жыл бұрын
Potentially. Although younger people are often easier victims. He got away with it for so long because they were gay poc, in a time where being gay was not acceptable so alot of them were kicked out of family homes. A younger person might not be stabel after that where as an older person might be
@TheKrispyfort8 ай бұрын
I'd say definitely a contributing factor. I've heard many stories about the Elder siblings being angry that a Younger sibling gets a better parent than they (the Elder sibling) had. I don't understand the resentment being aimed at the younger sibling. Maybe it's safer for them psychologically to resent the younger sibling than be angry at the common parent for not being as considerate when said Elder sibling was the babe
