Babies and young kids are cast in movies just like adult actors, but there are special rules in place about how long they can be on set. Oftentimes, a director wants a baby to cry on camera, and real babies are used for many of the scenes. We spoke with a professional baby wrangler named Elaine Hall, who has a special trick that works every time to make an infant cry on cue.

BTS deserve all the love in the world I think it’s because kids seem to be very empathetic and vulnerable at that age. When my sister was a baby and wouldn’t stop crying I would actually pretend to cry myself or act hurt so that she would focus on me and less on her crying and it actually worked. It’s actually ironic I cried to make babies stop while the lady cries to make them cry 🧐😂😂

This is so interesting. It reminds me of the "Still face mom test". Babies really do react off of other peoples emotions. When I was a nanny/babysitter I've noticed when a kid bumps their head; if you gasp it will scare them and they think somethings wrong so they'll cry. But if they tripped a bit or something small, I would go "Oh my goodness, you're so silly" and smile and they would laugh and pretend to do it again then we go and play something as if nothing ever happened lol (Btw I'm talking about little bonks on the head or missteps, not actual injuries)

I think it's so wrong. The one in charge is supposed to be strength for the baby. The baby is new here. If the one in charge is the big one, which could mean any of us because we're all bigger, then the baby feels bad because the one in charge isn't in control and nobody can take care of the egocentric baby. This is wrong. The baby needs to be feeling like being the center of attention is okay at that part of the baby's life. That's how trust is formed. These babies were made to cry are getting ripped off. This is not okay.

It is my pet peeve when babies will tumble, like they do every other minute, and parents gasp and, "Oh nooo!!" And rush to comfort them, and THEN the baby will start to cry. And I think it makes them scared to fall, so even when they just plop on their butt they'll start crying because they've been conditioned to get scared when they fall
