There were 2 dog heroes that helped with capturing the :Son of Sam" One was Harvey. Him getting shot was what put Sam on the radar. (Poor dog, I'm so glad that he survived !!) The other dog hero was Snowball. If that lady hadn't been taking her out for a walk, she would never have seen Sam which lead to the parking ticket clue. Good dogs!!

My grand parents worked with him at the post office in the Bronx. My grandma told me he was creepy but my grandfather would always say hi and converse with him because “he just needs friends”. He used to park his car in front of their house which was down the block from the post office they all worked at together. My dad was 15 and said when they caught him and my grandma was like I knew there was something wrong with him, and my grandpa felt so bad for not listening to her.

My mother told me a story how she would in this time go to the beaches in Long Island (where she is from) in the late 1970’s, and one time her and her friend noticed a guy wearing nice clothes carrying a shoebox going into the dunes and commented to each other how strange that was. Turns out she probably saw son of Sam hunting for his victims.
