This doesn’t give me any satisfaction at all, like other criminals getting sentenced for the crimes they commited. This one just feels like “yeah I’m guilty just put me away since i already lived my life” he did what he wanted and got to live all of his life as a free man while other people are in jail for doing less serious crimes or some not even having committed a crime at all.

Yes, but at least now he’s been identified. And everyone will remember him for the monster that he was. The real disgusting part is that he should’ve been a suspect from the get-go. Being a policeman at the time it makes sense that he would get so much personal information on his victims before striking. He’s a prime example as to how police officers are almost never apprehended for being rapists or abusers.

Michelle McNamara played a huge role in catching this guy. She was the woman who brought all of these police departments together to share evidence. Nobody knew about this predator until she turned the spotlight on him. To only put a small blip of her name in this video is a shame. Give her the credit she deserves.
@annerobles35854 жыл бұрын
Michelle McNamara played a huge role in bringing this case to the public’s attention by writing about about him and giving him a catchier moniker; however, did not play any role in catching him. He was arrested two years after her death and he was not a person of interest on her list, not was he on her radar. Paul Holes and Barbara Rae Vetner are the ones who had the largest role in catching DeAngelo.

I work at a chickfila, and one of the older gentlemen I served a lot was arrested for a cold case murder. He and his friend killed his girlfriend and left her in her car in 1974. He always came into the store with his granddaughter. He always came off a little strange but we figured it was because he was just old and quiet. One of our team leaders found a WAFB article and saw his face on Facebook after the arrest and showed us. We were all REALLY shocked.

I found his capture interesting but the sad thing is, he will never really pay for his crimes at his age. His victims did not have a choice and many died, he lived his life and for the remainder of his life he is living free behind bars, at his age with medical issues, no other inmates would bother him for inmate justice even though he's a former cop. He is getting free food and medical though he won't live much longer in his natural life. His life without parole would be most likely 2 years or less before death and after his body would be given to his family. The prison system should dump his body in a landfill under trash instead.

@@jackhamilton9604 ... What is the difference from Bulger to him? A mafia hit is for life until the target is caught. The Mafias are still very much active today and since 1980, they kept a overall much lower profile however. Sure inmates don't like a active or recently former police officer however a cop from decades ago that was corrupt, they would see different. The people he raped and stole from were all adults as well, no kids so they would look at him differently. So yes, I stand by what I said.

They found his police badge at one of the scenes and still thought he was working for a construction company. Sloppy police work back then I guess.

Aaaah. Yes. Visalia and Exeter. 2 towns extremely close to mine. I go to those places quite often. Infamous serial killer not too far from here. Manson’s memorial was held across the street from me. Lol.

This timeline is all wrong with events that they have matched. I wish they'd do more research than just put this stuff out. Almost all of these how they were caught videos have major flaws. Also good job on butchering the author's last name.

@Sauce McAdams I'll just give one example - they say he was dating his girlfriend Bonnie in 1979 while he was in the police force. That is incorrect. In fact what ultimately lead to their break-up was that she would not let him cheat off of her paper in college so he could get his degree and become a cop. There's other things that are wrong like I said.

Kicking a dog to death should be punished like killing a person, if they locked him for what he did to that dog, many lives would have been saved.

Just finished “I’ll Be Gone in The Dark” HBO series and just knew that you’re going to do a video about GSK 🤔 Anyway, I recommend “I’ll beHone in The Dark” , the book and the series, to anyone who wants to know more about the case... It’s such an enjoyable true crime content

What kind of punishment is this? Send him to the next life, there is no way youre telling me he gets to live peacefully for the rest of his life in prison, cared for and looked after. He beat a dog to death, harassed his victims and ruined families. He murdered dozens of people and made people scared to sleep at night. People were scared to go to the grocery store at night. I can't believe this... The only thing good about this case was that the work finding him was not wasted and the families have closure.

@peggypeggy41374 жыл бұрын
It's crazy that he didn't get caught before. If you see pictures of him as a young man, he looks quite a bit like the composite. Also, so weird that he got fired as a cop for stealing dog repellent and a hammer. Given his personality, you woud think there would have been a lot of red flags before he got to that point.

I'm from the Sacramento area and my mom and her family moved to Rancho Cordova, CA around the time this was all happening in that area. Some of the houses be broke into were just streets over from where they lived. My grandmother is convinced he was casing their house but he ended up going down to SoCal soon after I guess. There was someone moving between their house and the neighbor, things were stolen, my grandfather found a window lock broken. Some of the locations were just behind my mother's school she taught at years later. He was found in Citrus Heights, CA which is maybe 20-30 from Rancho Cordova. He lived down the street from my mom's coworker. I've been to her house. I've definitely driven past his house. He had family living a street over from my friend. If you watch "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" on HBO, many of the on-site scenes they filmed in Rancho Cordova were right around where I live. He went to my middle school. He went to the high school in the next city over where my brother went (my high school wasn't built yet when he was going to high school). It's really odd, though, because I never heard anything about EAR until he was caught. Given that it was such a big string of crimes that terrified my whole city, my family, I never even heard of him. I don't know why I never did
