Beautifully explained and demonstrated sheer scrape, Tomislav. You understood every challenge I explained that I face in turning. I didn't realize tilting the edge prevented the self feeding. I will try it first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you very much for addressing my concern. I'll go watch the rest of your video now. 😊

Oh my goodness. That's a seriously thin bowl!! In my opinion you definitely won this challenge, even high i know it's not a competition. I have never seen wood wobble like that before, incredible. I think the thinnest I've managed is about 3mm and that was only because i had a catch when scraping the inside and had to turn away the evidence of the catch. My heart was in my mouth for that one.

@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning this video is what del Stubbs invented sheer scraping for, it's easy to 1 hand the tool for interiors and steady the bowls outside, I've gotten a .25mm wall before this way. It was neat to see how you turned the bottom on this. My mcnghouton is used I've had to bend all the shanks back into shape to get them to cut, if they are tipped down they just grab. It's strange all the videos you've posted lately are things I recently tried, like your burnisher in the lathe. Today I made a 4th successful under 2mm walled hollow form Great video though really finessed this one man

Wow that was a really great instructional video tommi. Nice thin bowl, I was wondering what you were going to do with the 2 halves and now understand why you didn’t have a conventional foot on bowl. Really different approach from Richard , it worked so well for you too. Why didn’t you move your tool rest inside the bowl to assist in getting to the bottom more easily? Thanks for sharing.

No worries, I do the same 😅 Pretty much the same stuff, different name.... Shear cut is the name beacuse of the shear angle of approch when you position gouge to do finish cut....
