@ObeyCamp
@ObeyCamp 2 жыл бұрын
As impressive as his technique is, the vibrato, the inclusion of the tongue to punctuate each note, the humming, all of it... the most impressive part of all of this to me is his ludicrous range. I've whistled all my life and people have always told me I'm good at whistling, but I can't even fathom his highs or lows, but especially the highs. I didn't think whistling with that kind of range was even possible.
@Oroborus710

I too always considered myself a pretty decent (if not above average) whistler, but this mans skill makes me feel like I just started whistling. I aspire to one day have range as impressive as his, time to start practicing I suppose.

I got everything but the high speed note variation. I have no idea how he can do flight of the bumblebee like that. Also, as far as the high pitch notes go you really need to find a way to relax your lips while making the airway as thin as possible and it’s actually a little bit easier as your mouth gets dryer

My dad is a musician, he plays guitar and he’s always whistled along playing his instrument because he did not sing. As a kid, I would copy him so often. And I will always remember the first time I was able to whistle my first clear note : I was so happy. Never stopped since, I can imitate different phones’ notifications tones (I would love doing it in my secondary school, teachers would go crazy thinking some phones were in the room), I love imitating birds as well (i always try to replicate the sound of a new bird as soon as I hear it) I also annoy the heck out of my friends :).

I used to own canaries when I was young and with "talking" with them so much I became quite a skilled whistler. But I was always shy about it because I had always heard people say it's annoying so I never whistled in front of most people and always felt it was such a weird unspoken skill of mine. Where I live, in the Canary Islands, Spain, there is an island called La Gomera, and as they said in the video, the whistle is used as a language, because it is a small but very mountainous island, and I don't know when, but the whistle began to be used by our ancestors to communicate over long distances, thanks to the echo that the mountains themselves produce. The incredible thing is that this "secret language" remained on this island until today, where it is even taught in schools.

Try darting your tongue forward and backward in your mouth as you whistle to add vibrato. That’s how I do it, and this guy whistles in the same style as I do, so he probably uses the same vibrato method, although I’m not 100% sure because I can’t get my vibrato as fast as his.
