No Jay, I won't buy anything from 45Drives anytime soon. But thanks for that concealed ad. You guys - along with Lawrence Systems and other folks - are doing all you can to trump up this and other companies and that's OK in hyper-capitalistic environment we all live in, but I prefer to donate you instead. I see the value where it is, not where someone else sees it, unless they can prove me wrong. All in all - it's kinda exhausting that all of you guys are now doing this. Best of luck still, as I respect all of you without any exception. Just my few cents as I am not affraid of stirring things up anywhere I go. I care about the truth and transparency.

I am in this with you , but 45 drives have some cool projects for homelabbers and they are supporting open source projects and thats good a thing. I understand your frustration but 45drives is not an evil company and has done tremendous work for the small guys like us.

The reality we live in is that we need money to make things happen. I personally liked learning a bit about the company and how they support the open source community. I really didn't get the feeling I was getting sold anything, it seems to me that the point was to show you can have quality production ready hardware that's open source. People can't learn about it unless people make content about it. I do respect your opinion and I just wanted to share another viewpoint.

The audience for these promotional video is not the 20-something home basement hacker dealing with the budget for a new GPU to play Christmas games. The video talks to the 40-something IT manager or CTO with strong Linux background that is tanking the career risk of extirpating Windows + Dell / HP servers + proprietary sw stacks from his company servers to replace them with 45Drives, paying a suitable 6- or 7-digit bill PER YEAR. His first questions and the questions he will be required to answer in writing to the CTO and CEO are: 1. Who are these guys? 2. Can we trust them? 3. Do they know what are they doing? 4. Will they be around in 5 years time? 5. Is their custom hardware reliable? And so on. Grow up!

It's more exhausting to me to receive comments like this that are so far from reality that I question whether I should reply at all. I want to be absolutely clear here - Learn Linux TV has received ZERO dollars in profit, no affiliate credit, no free equipment, no savings on purchased equipment, absolutely nothing from this event. I understand that maybe other KZbinrs out there might be shady (I wouldn't know, I'm too busy creating content) but I run a clean ship here and I do not appreciate you saying otherwise. Shame on you.

@LearnLinuxTv Thank you for taking the time to show something that, for some health reasons, I will never see with my own eyes. Your channel in 2018 caused me to create a Polish channel about Linux in 2019, and I'm pleased with the low popularity of Linux in Poland. I've been happy with what I've been doing for over 5 years. Thank you so much Jay for your work!

45 Drives paid for your visit just like they did the others didn't they?
@technicalthug3 ай бұрын
It's pretty simple, 45 Drives paid for their flights, that's a sponsorship. It's literally in the definition of a sponsor. You were given something others would normally not have gotten. I think Lawerence was the closest with his remarks in his video to revealing all biases. In reality, I doubt anyone would really if you guys were 100% honest with mentioning that fact. I guess based on the Intro, I assume Learn Linux TV self-funded his flights over? Otherwise, this needs to be added as a Caption/Edit in the Intro.

Nice one Jay, thanks, people out here tend to scoff at me when I say that you are giving all your hard work to the wolves. I have gone over full time to Linux running mint Cinnamon, and I am also doing your LPI course on Udemey. This thing is just an eye opening experience of what MS has given way to, Adobe has probably been one of the worst when it has come to forced data lock-in in my opinion.
