Bhagat Singh remains one of India’s most revered and influential revolutionary figures. Born in 1907, his story is of passion, courage, and unwavering commitment to the ideas he strongly believed in. We understand Bhagat SIngh’s life journey by delving into the early political influences and incidents that radicalized him, which includes the impact of political thinkers like Marx and Lenin. But Bhagat Singh was not just a revolutionary; he was also a philosopher. His writings, such as his famous "Why I am an Atheist" essay, reveal his commitment to rationalism, humanism, and secularism. His views on religious orthodoxy and social injustice highlighted his vision of a more equal and just society.

There's a book by the legendary journalist Kuldip Nayyar on Bhagat Singh in which he recounts visiting the region in which Bhagat Singh was born, which lies today in Pakistan. He recounts talking to people there, and many of them did know and respect Bhagat Singh, and even knew that he was born there. However, the government of Pakistan has never officially acknowledged Bhagat Singh as a martyr in the cause of freedom. There's not even a single memorial. Bhagat Singh's memory does survive in Pakistan, but only in the minds of some people

@@supersayaaain As if modern-day India is any different in that regard. I urge you to read more about Bhagat Singh's vision for an Independent India, one that was firmly rooted in secularism, equality, and social justice, rising above narrow religious and communal biases. While we have achieved political independence, his broader vision remains far from realised. Just glance at the current news section also small boys are being brutally beaten for not chanting 'Jai Shree Ram.' This is not the India Bhagat Singh dreamed of, he would be deeply ashamed of what we’ve become today.

For the people confused about Bhagat Singh's views on religion and atheism I'll highly recommend to read 'why am i an atheist', a compilation of his writings and letters he wrote in jail while on trial. He mentions his criticism on religion and the evidence he used to convince himself to become an atheist This will open minds of both kinds of people who label him as a right wing or a left wing warrior for nationalism. He was not a Sikh, he was not a nationalist or an extremist, He was a 22 year old guy who dared to rebel against the world

Yes i also support atheism because it can be clearly seen in today's times or past times that being too much religious brings disputes ,brutality . It kills humanity. Sometimes i feel very sad when people fight for the sake of religion and forget that they are humans first. My thoughts are that atheist people are more kind hearted than those religious people.

agar aaj ka youth Bhagat Singh ke ideas ko 10% bhi smjhta to desh itna khokhla nhi hota . Unke views puri insaniyat ki azadi ko favour krte the . He was a global citizen . Who said people celebrate Veer Savarkar more than Shaheed Bhagat Singh? Both are legends. The contributions of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Veer Savarkar both were great. It is very easy, my dear friend, to criticise Savarkar while comfortably seated in an air conditioned room. Veer Savarkar was imprisoned in Kala Pani. Just read Vikram Sampath's Savarkar. All your misguidedness about Veer Savarkar will go. P.S. Veer Savarkar wrote about the freedom struggle of 1857 which became the source of inspiration for many freedom fighters, including Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Singh wrote the book in english so that future generations could read it. So both are legends. Pls dont spread poison.
