It’s crazy to imagine a start-&-park team is now one of the playoff contending teams of the sport.
@AlanpittsS2b7 күн бұрын
They aren’t a real title contender. The gimmick win and in playoff system is the only reason they were involved. They have improved but as of right now have never been a real threat to a championship
@jagmodyoutube42647 күн бұрын
@AlanpittsS2b FRM is a very competitive team right now due to the penske alliance frm runs at the front and mid pack now they can prove that they are competitive but they have had bad luck (McDowell almost made playoffs)

One of the craziest things from 2021 and 2022 is that McDowell lost his crew chief after both seasons He put up his best season yet in 2021, and his crew chief left to Penske. So FRM had to get him a new crew chief for 2022, McDowell put up his best season yet, and then his crew chief left to HMS After all that, they still pushed through, improved, and are now the team we know today
@dmoran10938 күн бұрын
It was Drew Blickensderfer that left for SHR and is now back with FRM. Ironically he left because he thought shr would be his ticket to compete for multiple wins.

You may not know Brian Simo, but he does have one odd claim to fame: He's the only driver that has a winning teammate record against Kevin Harvick. He got a top ten in a one off race for RCR's then part-time #33 in 2005.

Front Row Motorsports has grown a lot in recent years, having a rise from 2010 with support from Ford until today. Now, this year the team has been expanding in both programs with very talented drivers to compete for championships.

FRM is so underated on Superspeedways and McDowell is so good on the RCs. He actually won the Star Mazda series in 04 and they were pretty much all Road Courses which explains why he's so good on them.

McDowell deserves a big thank you check from Front Row on his way out. Having a guy that consistent and emotionally mature helped that team make leaps and bounds. McDowell is hopefully turning into the Kurt Busch role of, any team he joins he improves.

The Open Wheel Invasion (i call it Motorsport invasion since some guys weren't open wheeled), caused really bad rookie classes from 07-13 (minus Joey Logano for obvious reasons and Montoya was the most successful of the invasion with 2 wins.)
@seannolan98578 күн бұрын
I'd argue that it was mostly a byproduct of uncontrolled Buschwacking killing the careers of a lot of potential Cup drivers that caused it. Hiring open wheelers was just the way teams responded to the lack of good prospects.

Let's see I'm rooting for Gilliland to embrace his inner Ragan/McDowell Yes I'm a Todd Gilliland fan and a David Ragan fan (David Ragan my favorite driver in NASCAR).

Michael McDowell should've stayed with Front Row Motorsports, and not go to the #71 Spire team. That car is barely faster than the Rick Ware cars. The #71 car still sucks, I don't care what you say. A few decent races, doesn't mean that it's great.
