When Chastain missed the Big One by literal millimeters late in the 500, it pretty much felt like the racing gods had blessed him and my inner Chastain fan spent that whole red flag eagerly awaiting Chastain's seemingly impending 500 win like it was Mom pulling the biggest present out of the attic. I found out that with the 2025 schedule in place for 2024, Bubba Wallace and Chris Buescher make the playoffs instead of Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric. And Buescher would make it all the way to the Round of 8. The final four would be Logano Blaney Larson Bell (instead of Logano Blaney Byron Reddick)

Overtime/gwc used to be a good thing when it was about giving the fans a finish they'd otherwise be robbed of. It's since become a mechanism of race manipulation used by everyone from the teams to the officials.
