I vividly remember going into discord servers, teams asking to run revtane, eventually i gave in. 😢 playing so scaredy then getting rev ult thinking it was an automatic win, it felt cheap, playing with a one-track mind as your only means of securing rp. I remember one trans that never pushed unless rev had totem. This isn’t overwatch or league of legends. It was a tough time for sure. Any other revtane memories?

I still think seer horizon cat was worse, no audio horizons getting free height and free heals, seer preventing teams from doing... well anything, and throw up a cat wall and seer ult and just shoot diamonds. also i think its worth mentioning part of the reason revtane took so long to appear is because wraith was just still the best character in the game back in season 5, wasnt until wraith finally started seeing nerfs when revtane was discovered

What's crazy is that Revenant was the one who got the worst of the nerfs when it was all Octane's fault anyway without him Rev ult was still low tier and I'm a Rev main who knows Rev ult still sucked now its just unusable now while Octane is still usable and his ult doesn't let the whole lobby know where you are

Still get PTSD to this day whenever i hear a rev totem. That’s tuff octane fr skewed things leading to those heavy nerfs 😭. Rev reborn tho let’s hope making is solid again.

Honestly looking at this now I personally think it main was an issue on Rev design. At the end of the day pushing with no consequences is stupid and often times requires stupid amounts of coordination At the end of the day Revenant was one of 4 characters that imo were designed poorly and I’m glad their rectifying it with Rev reborn by removing this issue altogether Tho respawn please for the love of Allah Nerf Seer and horizon please

Interestingly the new ult is only for himself from what I’ve seen. It make him a better fragger with little more depth with how it can be used with the new tac.

I absolutely hated the Revtane meta. I still have flashbacks of finishing a fair fight between my team and another without outside interference, or we are just about to conclude such a fight, when I hear the jump pad. I suppose it’s still the same being in that situation and hearing a jump pad even without the revenant part of the equation, but it was every game back then 😅

This was my first time hitting master rank. I'll never forget how grueling it was to achive master this season 😩 I'm glad to say i didn't ever have to rely on playing the cheese revtane meta

i mained rev on release through the good and the bad but i never used his ult much as i mostly solo qued back then and i just liked taking away abilities and the extra climbing. my friend who mains octane didn’t start playing till after all the rev nerfs and i switched to path

Seer + horizon. Constant wallhacks and free heals, I can’t tell you how many horizons i’ve ran into running on some javascript or sum shit. They go: take damage > throw tactical > enter tactical > wiggle > pop battery

For me the wraith, rev and crypto was way more complicated to deal with

I LOVED revtane, and as a then-octane main, I was so glad to see him viable in comp. It was incredibly satisfying to launch in without any regard to safety and just purely focus on putting damage out there. I quit early into season 9, and only came back recently in S17. It was the last season where I had the patience and enjoyed the game enough to push to pred, and the game still had that sense of novelty being just 2 years old. Huge nostalgia in this vid.
