What a wonderful story, Neil. The sort with freedoms of creative thought, speech and action that appear to becoming swamped by a political, beige mentality. One of the things I've always thanked the RF for is for reminding us how we can all "think out of the box" if we unclatter the mind of everyday survival needs. Much like the creative license given to menus that personalities like Tom PB can produce. Thank you for reminding us all the time.❤

Lovely story. And I loved the chandelier piece to the right of you around the 2 minute mark. The gentleman was looking at camera, and I immediately recalled Del, Rodney and Granddad's chandelier sketch. Hopefully the gentleman in your video didn't have the same experience. What a great story about Tessie O'Shea. Sounds like she was a fan of George Formby in that she also played a Banjolele (a mix of banjo and Ukulele). Don't hear stories like this today.

Very astute, the Queen Mother, and no one knew her people better so it's not surprising she could pick an entertainer who would please them. I can just picture her chatting over drinks with Noel Coward. I'll bet the conversation sparkled, especially when no one else was around and they didn't need to be discreet. Thank you, Neil, for another great story about the links between royalty and entertainment.

🇭🇲🦘👋 You know what? "Dreams are made of this" and who would have thought that the Queen Mother (over drinks at Clarence House with her good friend, Noel Coward) would have been so instrumental in the success of another one of Noel Coward's productions, and the continued stardom ⭐ of the wonderful Tessie O'Shea? With Tessie being such a success as to receive a "show stopping" standing ovation. No wonder Noel Coward sent the Queen Mother 'that' telegram, suggesting what a great Agent she would be; and I'm certain that the Queen Mother would have been delighted (with the success) but also celebrated with one of her favourite drinks. While toasting Noel's and Tessie's success. All of the above now departed, but what a wonderful 'theatrical' and 'royal' LEGACY they ALL left us. Remembered even today, in a modern video on Neil's channel. No one tells it as well as you do Neil, and 'this' was no exception. Beautifully presented (by you) as usual. BY THE WAY: To all NEW subscribers! "Welcome" and Neil is correct, in that you are now "trapped" with us. Neil, me, and EVERYBODY else. So please "ENJOY" the ride, and the hospitality that this channel (of Neil's) does bring to so many; and remember to wave 👋👋👋👋👋👋 because we CAN all see 👀 each other. Really we can. 😉 LOL 😂 We are (or at least I am) also quite nuts 🥜🥜🥜 but in a good way, and harmless with a weird 🥴 🤪 sense of humour 🤣 as well. So "good luck" with that! 🤗 and, as always "Thank you" so much dear Neil xx 👔 ⭐👋

Good morning my dear Lyndell, hope you are feeling well today and thank you for your beautiful inspiring words above, I am always grateful for the friendship and support from yourself and Neil, a very special part of my life. Well the wind has subsided, boy it was bad yesterday, I took Kasey and Bayley on the dunes and we were blown sideways all the way Kasey could hardly stand upright bless her. We survived of course but very disheveled, I looked like Worzel Gummidge!!😂. The birds still came in their droves, hanging on tightly to the bird feeders, they are do tiny but have such strength in all weathers. I love them. Going to have a haircut and perm today, my once a year treat, I need it, like I said above Wurzell Gummidge comes to mind. Kasey is snorting here beside me and sends a big hug. I do hope everything goes as well as possible at your friends funeral tomorrow, you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself my friend, you are truly cared for and appreciated. Much love and positive friendship is sent to you both from us all. Hxx👋👋🙏🙏❤️❤️🏴🌺🐕🐕🫂🫂🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

@heleneentwistle8050 "Good evening" dearest Helene, and I so enjoyed reading ALL of your news. You mentioned that you are looking (or were looking) a bit like Worzel Gummidge 😂 .. Well! I quite liked Worzel Gummidge, much more than even our young son did. So, if you looked a bit like Worzel, then it's okay with me 😉 LOL 😂 although I'm sure that you're looking forward to your haircut and perm (your treat) today, and I fully understand that as well. I'm also VERY certain that you look lovely, however you or your hair might look. I actually only notice peoples eyes, in that, I look into their eyes when speaking face to face. Although, quite often I DON'T see the obvious. I'll explain (if you don't mind). You see, about 43 years ago, Bob had had a moustache for quite a while. On one Saturday morning he entered the kitchen (after his shower and getting dressed) ready for the day ahead. I was getting on with the housework (as we both worked, only leaving weekends to catch up) and Bob usually worked outside etc. Although this particular morning he was going down to the shops for us. Anyway, as the morning went on, he was a bit underfoot, and I said "well, when are you going down the street?" and he replied "when you notice something, so that I can!" I asked "what?" He said "well look at me!" I looked at him, his attire, his feet and his face, noticing Nothing, with him rolling his eyes 🙄 and then I FINALLY noticed that he had shaved OFF his moustache BUT only HALF of it. Thinking, that I'd notice and laugh and tell him to shave off the rest. BUT I hadn't noticed. He said "thank goodness, as now I can shave OFF the rest, and go out" and saying "you really didn't notice, did you?" and I hadn't. Only noticing his lovely eyes, and how handsome he was. This is a TRUE story, and one he likes to remind people of, often, especially when I don't notice the obvious. So (you see) you could enter the room covered in paint of many colours, and I probably wouldn't notice, as I'd only be looking at your eyes. Bob was then clean shaven for many years, but he now sports a full beard and moustache. All white, with a full head of thick white hair, just as his dear 'late' dad did. All of his uncles also had their hair turn white (quite young) and Bob began to go white (hair wise) in his 40s. Well, I've carried on enough. "Enjoy" your haircut and perm, and I'm sure that you'll look even more beauiful than you already do. Please thank Kasey for her hug for me too, and "thank you" for your kind thoughts and prayers for us. "God bless" 🙏 you all. With much love from Lyndell xx 💓🫂💓🫂 💓🐕🐕 💓🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈 👋👋

Argh God bless you Lyndell what a beautiful heartfelt story, Bob sounds wonderful and I am sure just as handsome as the day you met, i am sure you are beautiful too, a striking pair. I agree, you can read such a lot into people's eyes, an indebted feeling and meaning. Thank you for your kind words, I am aging ok I think, certainly never beautiful but my blonde hair is original, never had a colour or anything so happy with that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I have had issues with the body look, being very slender, and some comments can be cruel, but i have tried to rise above it and a lot more confident than in the past. Please take care and love to you both always. Hxx👋🙏❤️❤️🏴🌟

@@heleneentwistle8050 You are beautiful inside and out, and never let anyone say any different. If they do, they aren't worth knowing. I no longer look as I did when Bob first met me. We have aged gracefully (or disgracefully 😉🤣 ) but aged we have; but we are still the same inside, although maybe a little wiser. Or so we'd like to think. Not always right either, but having faults make us better, especially when we acknowledge our faults. Please "take care" and "God bless" 🙏 you Helene, my very dear (and caring) friend. You ARE a good person. with love from Lyndell xo 💓🫂

Neil, I remember hearing a story about Elizabeth the QM and Noel Coward. He was escorting her to a theatre production and the staircase was lined with Guardsmen. Apparently when his eyes turned sideways, she tapped his arm and said “Now, now Noel they have to be home in bed by 11.30!’ I loved that story, can just hear that fluting, correct voice saying it. Not sure how true it is, can’t even remember where I heard it.🫣😳😲🤭👍🇦🇺👋👋
