Back then, CFOP was known as the Fridrich method. It was invented by a professor in Binghamton uni.

So I didn’t cover it that since apparently Fridrich was falsely credited for creating the method while in reality she just helped a lot with providing algs etc online

Hi CubeHead, I started my Rubiks Cube journey thanks to your 2024 beginner video. That method was awesome and I finished my first cube at the day I bought it. At my second day, I learned how to solve RCube without watching your guide because I memorised it all. At my third day I was solving the RCube in 6 minutes 30 seconds. Yesterday in 4 minutes 13 seconds and today in 3 minutes and 12 seconds. Each day I improve myself and finally found a new hobby, Rubiks Cubes! I am currently using Rubiks “Speed” Cube the first version, not the newest version. In someday I will watch your CFOP guides. Thanks for introducing me into this new “nerd” world 😂, you are a legend!

I learned 2 look CFOP a few years ago then stopped cubing all together until I picked it up again recently. My hands still remember some of the algorithms, but for some reason I'm in the habit of using the T-perm in every single solve. Sometimes twice if there are no corner pairs 😂 I'll learn the rest of the algorithms soon 😅

To be honest I used ZZ method. I know, it's worse but for me I'm used to it because no cube rotation and I'm bad at them but I'm getting there and the ZZ it's not the usually one. It's basically solve all the bad edge first then solve like cfop just no cube rotation. I know the inspection is really difficult because of EO and cross they're I think the hardest part of this.

Im so triggered by the fact that in that little cfop clip around 1:55 in the "first layer" step the centers are colored for some reason, but foor some reason all but the yellow one, which will remain uncolored. Like getting the second layer centers is part of the first layer step

@CubeHead9 ай бұрын

@ensmatter9 ай бұрын
ZZ main here, the section on why CFOP is better for speed than ZZ is completely misinformed. This is because we use EOCross instead of EOLine now. This means ZZ F2L is CFOP F2L but better. You have less cases, better lookahead due to edge orientation, better ergonomics (R U and L U), and no rotations or regrips. Then you get a better last layer then CFOP because of edge orientation and it’s roughly the same movecount. The only way CFOP is better is better than EOCross ZZ is that inspection is easier as you don’t have to plan EO.
