As a psych major, 12:16 this really hits. Being forced to finish everything on the plate as a kid leads to adults not knowing how to listen to their body. So biggest takeaway, always listen to what your body tells you! If it says you're hungry, do not hestitate to try and munch on something. If it says you're full, do not feel guilty and just stop. You may save anything for later or you can just discard it. Bein intuitive about your body is also the key to a healthy lifestyle.

Yes!! I feel like societal stigma (ooOoOh wE LiVe iN a SoCieTy) against men wearing makeup has gotten a lot better in recent years. Every man you see on TV, in movies, they all wear make up and I'm sick of people acting like it's a 'gay' thing or it emasculates you. If you get a massive pimple before a date, or you've got really bad undereye circles from pulling an all-nighter, a little bit of colour corrector and concealer goes a long way.
@furretfan4503 жыл бұрын
Actually there is not, there is a stigma around being gay and lgbt. You being scared to be associated with that stigma doesn’t mean YOURE being stigmatized. Please shut the fck up 😭
@liyre41893 жыл бұрын
@@furretfan450 Those aren't mutually exclusive. There's a stigma around wearing makeup just as there is a stigma around being LGBT. I'm not afraid to be associated with being gay, I'm literally bisexual :) Ofc the stigma against wearing makeup can also be rooted in homophobia, internal homophobia is a bitch and frankly really hard to get rid of. People who aren't brave enough to wear makeup can be: 1) afraid of upsetting the 'status quo' 2) insecure in their own sexuality/masculinity 3) scared of being attacked/called names because there are people out there who are dicks It's really not that simple, but c'mon telling people to shut the fuck up (although I do appreciate the please) doesn't help anyone.

@@keroki932 Not just men. Everyone. If you're going to do it right, don't discriminate. There's also women who make women feel like shit for their looks, and there's also men and women and whoever who make other people feel like shit all the same. Even worse is the stigma on men showing emotion. Showing feelings? "Be a man!" What a load of bull. No matter your gender, a 'real strong' person is simply not afraid of being themselves, and that involves showing emotions or talking about them. Bottling up only creates more trouble. Having said that, being a drama queen over everything also creates trouble. I guess people just like dealing in extremes

Toast is right. Work towards your goal like there's a deadline instead of just aiming for something because regardless of how meticulous you are to accomplishing your goals, people are always bound to relapse because their actions became habits and it's hard to rewire currently existing habits. Don't focus too much on your goals, you will overwhelm yourself and relapse is right around the corner. Work on small things bit by bit just like how Toast allowed himself to still have everything he liked but in smaller portions and overtime things will compound and you will be amazed how far you've come by the time you reach your deadline. Good luck everyone on their self improvement journey this following 2022!!

I’ve been feeling down and really insecure about my appearance and this video really helped with motivation. I’ve been wanting to lose weight but it’s been hard to find the mental push. This video helped me imagine a future of me being more fit and it made me happy and gave me hope. Will def have this vid saved as I try to improve 🙏🏻

Honestly this was so helpful. I’ve struggled with being overweight for most of my life and every New Years I said “this year I’ll lose weight” and I’ve made it such a negative thing that I’ve never kept on with it. I do have something coming up in April and I’m going to try your tips. Thank you for sharing your story ♥️

I'm really loving these informational videos you're posting occasionally. I bet lots of your viewers are learning and gaining quite a bit from these types of videos, including me. The rest of the videos are also amazing. Keep it up! I, myself, know I need what you're teaching.

I think the beginning of this video is interesting when you’re talking about your wit. As a Brit, the sarcastic and dry humour is what made me want to watch you. I found it hilarious during among us lobbies since almost everyone in the lobbies knew you were joking. But I’m glad you feel more comfortable in yourself toast!

I've lost 50 pounds since the start of 2021 when I was the heaviest I've ever been. I agree with a lot of what toast says about doing whatever keeps you going - there's no faster way to fall off than if you beat yourself up over every bad thing you eat, or feeling like you have to stick to salads while your friends order steaks. Where I disagree is about picking an end date rather than a start date. Setting a hard goal of being this weight by this date it can create a lot of pressure, especially because sometimes you don't see results right away. Other people will see your results before you do. I felt results before I saw them - my back pain went away, then people started saying I look better, then I noticed my clothes are kinda loose. It's a whole process. I think losing weight is going to be different for every person. For me, I don't have a hard goal in mind. I'm secure in that the better choices I make now will last and that I'm healthier for it. That's it, no ending statement..just don't do anything that's gonna make you stop. Hard goals might make you stop. 🙏🏾

I'm a soldier, and considering a significant portion of my life is dedicated to staying in, at least half decent shape, I am halfway through the video and definitely support the advice thus far. You don't need to wipe out all carbs, or do fad diets, or go to the gym every day to maintain a healthy body. Obviously, when I was in OSUT, the calorie deficit was intense and probably unhealthy, but I'll say this. I went in at probably 160 lbs (after having been 190 a few years prior), and went to 129 lbs. That's a rough estimation since it's been a few years, but considering it was only 14 weeks, that's a lot to be losing. Keep in mind, we got fed alright, we just walked almost everywhere, rucked, and did morning PT almost every day. Very rarely was our workout focused around weight lifting. A lot of what we did was body weight exercises you can do in your bedroom, living room, back yard, driveway, porch, wherever. Obviously we did have exercise equipment and occasionally used weightlifting as a tool to get in better shape, but dropping 30 lbs is very doable without a gym membership. I personally recommend running myself. I'm not good at all anymore, but I used to be in the "A group" even during our 8 mile runs. Now, just to get in shape, I don't really recommend running any more than 2 or maybe 3 miles at a time, since I've heard running further is usually more harm than good, but impact, to an extent, is good for building bone strength, as well as just getting better cardiovascular and respiratory health. I don't recommend just running, or just doing body weight exercises. I really think what Toast mentioned (doing workouts at home, and running around the block) can be a huge benefit to your health, and is really all you "need" to get in good shape. Now, if you want to hold something with weight while doing lunges, do your runs with weight, do anything with added resistance, I'd say hold off on that until you are proficient at doing it without resistance. For example, if you can't do a pushup, do a pushup on your knees. Eventually, you'll be able to do a pushup. Then, do regular pushups. When that gets easy, do more. Then try different variations of pushups. Off the top of my head, I can think of Triceps pushups, diamond pushups (where you touch your pointer fingers and thumbs in a diamond on the ground), and pushups where your legs are elevated (dunno if there's a name). A good ab workout that got me to maxing out the Armys APFT situps (before it changed to the ACFT) was doing 10 minutes of abs, every day, 10 different workouts, no breaks in between. This takes 10 minutes of your day, minimal planning, no equipment, and is great for your health. I'm not saying weightlifting is bad or unnecessary. If you're trying to gain weight, you might need that extra resistance such as weightlifting in order to gain weight, and cardio is not going to help as much in that department. And if you're worried that you're too weak, get a friend who will spot you benching just the bar. If even that is too much, get dumbells or other weighted objects to push up while you lie on your back. There is no shame in being weak. There is honestly no shame in staying weak if you are fine with it imo. The shame is when you want to get stronger, but let yourself stay weak because you're afraid of going to the gym or doing workouts and caring about what people think of you. It's your body, your goals, your work to put in. If people care, they can help if you're cool with it, otherwise, they have no place judging you based on the progress or lack thereof you've made.

I go to the gym everyday stopped eating terribly and went from 205 to 170 with a lot of muscle. I still got to work on things like cardio, but I get more and more addicted seeing the progress. There are different types of body types. I found out I was a mesomorph so I gained fat fast but I also gained muscle pretty quick. Keep grinding!
