It was so lovely to hear your story thank you for sharing. I live in the uk and at 47 started Italian from zero because I met an Italian double bass player from Florence and we have performed together for over five years now. I have still never been to Italy but he says I speak perfectly!! Well that’s not quite true 😂 but I can certainly communicate well, and I have still never been to Italy! Learning is so fun just do one thing a day. Listen, speak, sing, whatever just do something everyday. It is possible!!! We have so many free resources available and chat platforms too so you can practice. I learnt most of my Italian in lockdown! I also play a lot of Brasilian music with my group cores do samba and sometimes lyrics are in Italian. Music is a great resource e ora posso anche ascoltare le canzoni che hai registrato❤
