It’s interesting to me how the chord sequence he started with is actually pretty traditional to the guitar - it sounds similar to flamenco and the Phrygian mode, and even aspects of the rhythm, phrasing, and use of harmonics hint in that direction. And, yet it is amazing how innovative and technical his performance is while remaining lyrical and accessible at the same time

Tim Henson: I have been playing for 30 years, and I must say I am blown away by your extreme talent. Your whole band is nuts, but you specifically have such soft hands when playing, it is just remarkable. For anyone new to guitar, even Polyhia is learnable with enough practice. Try 1/6 speed to start. Get a metronome. Go to 1/3 speed, then 1/2, then 3/4, then full speed, but break your practice into one phrase at a time. It is overwhelming, but doable.

Im thinking hes got the musician prodigy brain 😮 they just connect with their instruments, even though hes practiced plenty it just seems like he doesnt even think too hard about it.

You wouldn't be able to make out all the insane playing with all that distortion and reverb if it was actually used on the song.

@@blakebrown534 yes, but the chords + electric guitar tone would’ve amounted to a greater song than the arpeggios + nylon guitar

It's the same in reverse, I commented on the video, and All I said is it wasn't for me, and I end up getting attacked and told I don't know anything about music. I'm over sixty, and I've been in the stage lighting business for over forty years. They sound like very good session musicians. None of their songs stood out to me. I don't hate them.
