@@velcro4836 Thanks! Yeah it's easy to whistle while chilling but considerably harder to 'record' a whistle in the mic since the mic (even with the pop filter) picks up a lot of air especially during highs and lows when you're trying to get it perfect. The fact that Tim chose my whistle is enough to tell me I was good enough. Fun fact: I once recorded an easier whistle (which came out perfect!) for a buyer who rejected the delivery because he thought it was not a natural human whistle and more like a pipe/flute 😂

Guess what, *one of the most iconic sections of such a profoundly thoughtful piece is mixed from a 32 dollar fiverr whistle* ” It’s the contrast between the unexpected creative-playfulness behind the curtains and the top quality of the song that makes it funny, considering how many thoughts were put into the song, no one would really expect parts of it to come from something so informal. Anyways that’s where I think the humor lies :D

Well, I guess these things are only natural, and I didn't even have to watch the vid to know Tim is influenced by others, he frequently mentions he has drilled a lot of stuff before, from Hendrix to classical music. Anyway, almost nobody seems to have the "balls" to ask these questions, so that we know a bit more about Tim: Here are my questions I would love to see answered: 1. Is Polyphia now almost entirely playing songs where every single 16-th note is hit by default as a total must, and as many 32-ths and sometimes even 64-ths are cramed into one beat as possible - to just flex on purpose? 2. Is it because they try to differentiate themselves from others, knowing a few, if any, would be able to repeat the same thing after them? Is it because they perceive this day and age being fast, and it is just a response to that? Or is it because they just want to be super-shredders? 3. Don't they think after one or two more albums with playing this super-fast, the continuous note hitting without any air and space will just become too much of an overkill - and get too boring? 4. Don't they plan to record at least ONE song with a bit more "space" in it? I mean, I know I am Gen X and this are new gen gentlemen, but still - here's a concert take by Henson (recorded when he was even years younger) - and played a beutiful solo with MUCH MORE SPACE in-between notes, and more headroom, than the super-tight, super compressed, super crammed style he prefers to play now (my generation would call this old Henson's solo FUSION btw.): kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKqqiqSZlLNgoNU 5. It seems that people are just afraid to ask Tim what many would like to know, I believe. I don't want to get offensive in any way, but I have to ask this - why does Tim like so many feminine elements around him, starting with his clothing, through pink amp sims, to his hair style? Is it because his mother has had a great influence on him? My first thought was Tim is one of those guys who use female or even plural pronouns - but no, he seems to identify himself purely as male. So, WHAT is the influence behind this feminine styling of his? And, what does his girlfriend say about it? I am literally curious to know the answers. Thx

Wow! How wonderful to gain insight into the creative process. Tim’s integrity and honesty is without reproach giving credit to the anonymous guitar teacher and other musicians who contributed towards this masterpiece. Tim will go down in history for being one of the true greats. Good on him.

TIM. That other riff at 00:32 is insane af. Can you please release that either in the form of audio on your channel or in the form of a song lmao? I've been playing a shit ton of **exclusively** polyphia right now (it's helping me stay sane through the load of school work) and I'm legit running out of riffs to play, but that one is insane sounding.

The highlights were spot on - it's as if Tim knows what I'm curious about - the classic nylon super fast lick on the first part, the bossa nova section, and the WHISTLE MELODY! I thought it was a keyboard saw patch! 12-minutes masterclass seems so short, I enjoyed the entire video! Thank you for the opportunity of letting us see behind your great work!

I’m relatively new to your stuff Tim. You know what I appreciate about all you guys in Polyphia is how accessible you all seem in terms of your creative process. As a recording engineer in a former life, seeing this being openly explained and bringing the small production details to the fans, initiated or not in the art of music is really cool to see. Thanks man.
