I went ahead and installed my KMJ Alternator when my J2Fab finally died on small WOT pull on Thursday.

PS: I am trying a much more complicated editing program and are learning as I go. SADLY, I had my goPro set to 4:3 instead of 16:9 and the resolution was off, but I tried to polish it up the best I could. I am working on improving my video and audio quality of my uploads, and this was the first step.

Just wanted to let you know that I now have a AeroForce gauge with the A/F ratio kit...today my wife and I were going out for dinner..decided to take the Cobra...going to the highway and I glanced at the AeroForce gauge...it read 11.2 v...then 14v...and back to 12v...turned around..went home and got another car...will be ordering a KMJ on Monday....😄😄😄.

Man lol, you made it look easy just putting the new one in through the opening. It’s like you had no restrictions 🤷🏼‍♂️. Even on mine he stock one you have to finagle it to get it out. But this massive one was much harder. That was the hardest part for me lol just fitting the new alternator through the hole (opening). Then yes it really helps if you have someone up top to guide he alt and throw the pin in! Luckily my awesome mom was close by! 😁 Good video Kevin

One of the big things even with the KMJ is having the correct size alternator pulley on it so that it is not over spun. I believe they call for it not to be pushed past 16,000 RPM's. I know mines burnt through a few stock ones before I bought it. Up grading mine is something I plan on doing very soon.

I'd check it now. Get a volt meter and just make sure you're getting at "least" 13 at idle. You'd be surprised

Hey ...just wanted to let you know that I ordered my KMJ Alt today..Kenny wanted me to measure my alt pulley...because he suspected it was 3.20...and it was..so I ordered a 3.50 from Lethal Performance..to slow it down more..and I mentioned this vid and he gave me 10% off...thanks a million....also he wants to buy my old pulley...but I will probably just ship to him for nothing...nice guy...take care...😀.

After going through 3 alternators in one summer I decided to stuff a kmj alternator in mine. No more voltage problems. Have 3k miles on mine. Will be interesting to see how long they last.

Just wanted to add..that I replaced the alternator in 2015 with good quality 130 amp alt... and a larger diameter pulley to slow it down due to the 4lb. Lower..not a job that I want to do again...it’s pretty tight in there...lots of stuff to take out...changing the water pump isn’t a bad job....did that too...!!

Nice job. I have heard that you can kill a battery by setting it on the cement just FYI. I always put mine on a table or carpet that I have in my garage. I have the mechman and so far it’s great.

You can’t run the stock alt pulleys on these. You want to run a 3.0 pulley of your on a stock 4lb lower.

That looks really good and everything, but just have one concern. Does it needs to grind the bracket? In the video doesn’t show much of it. What would happen if I jump this step? Will it be a problem? I’m planning to change my alternator on my 03 cobra and really like the amp you showed and I checked the price and it’s very affordable compare to AM and mec man, the issue is I won’t be able to grind the bracket. The car looks awesome! Thank you for the how to video it sure helps a lot.

I’ve got a similar blower/cams setup as you and was wondering if going to a 3” cat back is worth the money over my borla stingers currently on? I’ve got Arh 1 7/8 Lt’s with orx pipe that’s necked down. I know you have a video on that subject but was wondering first hand if you think spending the $ on the bassani 3” is worth it before I get tuned soon?? Thanks in advance

Hi brother. I have an 03 mineral grey terminator that I bought back in may. My first cobra had the borla stinger setup and I thought it sounded amazing. I was going to put the same thing on my newest cobra because it has a full bassani 3" system on it, including bassani mid-length headers. But when I got the car I was truly amazed at how terrific the sound was...so good that I decided to leave it on the car! Both systems sound great so it just comes down to personal taste.

Question... My pulley on my alternator is a little dinged up. It has put wear on my belt. What pulley should I buy for it? I just have the 2.76 and 4 90mm aftermarket idler pulleys. Everything else is stock. Thanks. Love the channel

I'd keep the stock size personally. Or slightly LARGER metco pulley. You definitely don't want smaller.

Would it be better to just start with a 250 amp instead of the 200? Did you ever change your wiring? I know they offer a 0 gauge, and lastly where did those awesome gauges come from? I want some lol, as always great videos with great info and great looking car!!

Start at 250 if available. I had previously done the 4g wire upgrade. I think They are aero force Interceptors

So I did the same thing, replaced the alternador (kjm) and the battery, I changed the battery connection, and I’m only getting 13 on the reader, got the battery checked and the alternator and both are fine! Anyone did anything else different that I may be missing ?

Red top batteries will destroy alternators as well. They are horrible on diodes.

I just came aross your video trying to figure out what was up with my 04 cobra. I I just did a ported eaton, TB, Inlet, 60s, SCT 2600, SVT Focus pumps, upgraded FPDM, and I am seeing fuel pressure drop from 40 into the low 30 even 28psi range, did a datalog and im not getting anymore than 12 volts. Im assuming im losing voltage to the pump and thats whats causing this issue. You think it's related?

Just be super careful, this can cost your your short block man... It's the alternator. Maybe tied with a semi clogged fuel filter
