Thank you so much bro I know you probably won’t see this but I spent two weeks just losing getting my ass kicked and i tried this build order I’ve won two games now! Granted its low skill level ranking but I finally won a solo game and finally one a team game using your build order. I wrote it all down on paper and have been following it and it’s working! I’m actually getting good economy (trying not to idle tc) and making military faster then the enemy finallllyyyy!

After mongols my vote would be for the underdog civs, I’ve always liked to play underdog civs, it’s super boring always going mirror or a 4 v 4 with mostly English French and Chinese. Nice vids keep the hard work!

I would revise this to 5 on gold, 6 on wood. All you need to upgrade is wheelbarrow and horticulture. Use a woodworker to make your buildings, then send back. It works out better. Great stuff Beasty, thanks for the content.

Ty for the video. I am a longtime AoE 2 player who mostly played the Huns in that. Since transitioning 4 with the two friends I’ve always played AoE with, I’ve noticed they have adjusted and learned AoE 4 vs 2 much faster than me. For now I’m sticking to the French and in the 3v3’s we play online, we do well but when we do lose, it’s usually because I’m the one behind. I’ve clutched games for us before too so I have my moments but overall I’m trying to be more consistent for them so we all have a good time. Currently our 3v3 win rate is 53%, I have no idea if that’s good bad or average but we are looking for at least 60%

Hi! Thanks for a great tutorial. I have a question about your building placement. I thought you were supposed to not place buildings close to your town centre so that you later on can build farms around it. Is that not the case?

Hi beasty I am gold III I kinda don't know how to play French vs Abbasid If abbasid rush 2nd TC and plays defensively so you don't really have a good position to attack until your can make ram. Do you just mass knight and archer waiting?Meanwhile you know Abbasid is making horseman and spearman In my opinion knights archer is really hard to against horseman spearman,there is micro difficulty difference. What do you do in this situation? Appreciate if you can answer.

"Don't lose knights, they are important." Most french players I encounter love to send their knights on suicide missions.

This is where APM comes in. I can handle 2, sometimes 3 knights attacking separately but anything past that and I start losing knights. VS a high APM player I start losing knights even controlling only 2 as they set up ambushes, kill my scout, or sneak in some harassment on my food/wood which slows either knights or archers. Most low elo players don't integrate scouting very well. Once I started going 2 scouts open and replacing any lost scouts my knight attacks became way more efficient.

Maybe try Meinwork for age 2 and go for the infantry speed upgrade , go for archer main and spear to protect them. Use your archers to kill the archers . Mind that your outpost upgrades are cheaper too. Or you can go stable and raid too with horsemans , you need less ressources for it even if its not really effective , but put the french player into defensive and go for the standart Reignest relic rush and switch to Men at Arms with mases and Lansknecht , still think that the move speed upgrade is mandatory

@@Thekelskgamingetletsindeed meinwerk-spear-archers are a beatiful comp. but I think raiding with horsemen wont work out against french, going to castle and moving out with your military after walling your base off would be the safe way to get relics imo.

Very rarely you see high level players using HRE as main, you don’t really get to boom until you reach imperial with the palace of Swabia, that’s assuming you’ve already picked up enough relics and hope you didn’t produce too much units to drag down your economy. In mountain pass or Black Forest it’s perfectly fine when you can afford to turtle. By the time you get to imperial, your opponents probably already has 2 or 3TCs (Abbassid prolly has 5 😂), and then you’re just playing catch-up. Like what beasty made a comment about HRE a while back, it feels like they are just missing “something” to prevent them from being a better civ.

Problem becomes if they’re good and counter this then after my deers and sheep are dead do I go farms or berries into farms? Food management mid game is always problem for me with French cuz knight cost

I'm nowhere near beastys level but as a general rule of thumb try to avoid making farms for as long as possible. To afford farms you need extra guys on wood and it's a pain in the ass to afford especially if you're making knights.

To better answer the food thing goes, sheep first, cause they come to you, then berries... but only if you don't have any close deer, if deer are close, deer first then berries. And finally farms. Because farms are heavy in wood.

@@mattstoss1423 depending on civ and your current situation it might also be better to go for hunts/ berries before the sheep and go to sheep if you get zoned away from one of those. This is especially true with dehli and Abbasid focusing on berries first and moving to sheep if pressured too much by knights or archers.
