2:29 he didnt just unbolt the compressor and swing it out of the way, he removed it entirely, most home mechanics will not want to do this unless they have the tools to capture the coolant in the AC system, and then recharge the AC system. It is actually possible to just hang the compressor: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGLad3hreNNsfLssi=hDGw0SaQrpdL0ejf&t=450

@@jieiku Yes I mentioned in my video if you remove the compressor like I did you would have to take it to a shop to have the refrigerant evacuated and recharged when done.

Great video. I found removing the right motor mount allows you just enough to come out the top no issues. This is also the 2.0.

You make it look so easy. I hope we see more auto repair videos.

Great editing made it look easy! lol No actually once the compressor is out of the way it is a piece of cake. I would like to do more repair videos but don't really ever have a chance to unless I am working on my own cars. I'm hoping to put more repair videos out this year.

Great video and thanks for the info. Yes as others have pointed out there are different ways to the job but this one makes the most sense. Its too bad we spend 1000's of dollars for alldata and prodemand and have to resort to You tube for information. Appreciate your efforts!

Thank you! Oh yeah KZbin is a valuable tool when you are a mechanic.

I know this has been done over 1 yr ago but i can tell you that you didn't need to undo the lines on the AC just let it hang down the hoses will let you move the compressor enough and no evac and recharge
@FABAutomotiveDetailing4 жыл бұрын
boedacres Yeah the next time I do one I won’t remove it. Appreciate the advice.

As Boedacres said, no need to undo your a/c lines. Let the compressor hang. As for time, a shop shouldn't charge you more than 1 1/2 hrs of flat rate labor. Very easy job.

Nice video man! Getting around book times trying to make time is rough on some jobs. Especially some of these cars they stuff things in spots where you look it like 😕😕 uhhh.. haha

Hyundai is killing it with how far they've come in quality. The Genesis is nicer than most Lexus vehicles imo.

Yes they are! I have worked on a few Genesis and really liked them. Hyundai and KIA are both making really nice vehicles now.

Just had my 2012 done by a shop as we were away from home when it died. I told them how I would have done it (taking it out the top) but they somehow pulled it out the side and never touched the A/C. It took them 4 hours, charged me for 3 hours plus the alternator, mumbled something about the harmonic balance and left me wondering just how the heck they got it out. I loved your method though I couldn't have done it under my shade tree.
@FABAutomotiveDetailing5 жыл бұрын
David Bennett Yeah it sucks that Hyundai gives no directions on how to replace them. Your left trying to figure it out and hoping your right. 4 hours is crazy for this job. Unfortunately it would be difficult to do at home if the A/C is charged but this was the best way IMO to do it.

Off topic... Replacing a injector connector because I broke it replacing the injectors.. Sighhhhhhh... My question is my new one has red & black wires.. Pretty simple.. But the ol dodge dakota has blue & white/blue wires.. I have NO idea which one is the positive & negative.. Kinda thinking blue is positive 💡 butttttt, I am afaird I will mess it up & ruin a $40 injector... Help pls sir!
@FABAutomotiveDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Katrina Georgia Girl Do you have the old connector with the wires still in it? If you don’t tell me what year the Dakota and what engine it has. Also what cylinder injector you are fixing.

Cylinder 8...
@FABAutomotiveDetailing5 жыл бұрын
Katrina Georgia Girl Just wire it exactly how the factory wires are in the connector. Color doesn’t matter as long as they hook back up the same. Example if the blue wire is on the left in the old connector and the red wire is on the left in the new connector then connect the red to the blue. Hope this makes sense
