Having been a year now how is the paint on the rack holding up? Wondering if it would be wise to repaint the rack with a high quality automotive paint for durability prior to installation. This is something I would do when buying a new trailer hitch for example due to the quality of factory paint. Even on a new pickup truck a factory installed trailer hitch looks years old after the first 12 months. Racks on a new Kawasaki ATV do the same thing. Great video!!

Hey David! Thanks for watching. I used the rack for over a year and never had an issues with the paint rubbing or chipping off. I have recently sold the KLX230 for a GS750 so I won't be able to do a long term review.

Is this installation strong /safe enough to be the lifting point if I lift the bike by hand on the rack, will it bend the frame or anything?

Thanks for watching! I don't think I would use it as a lifting point for the entire bike. Might get the back end off the ground in an emergency situation though.

Hey 2 Shoes! Thanks for watching and the comment. I agree. Not sure if it's California or the US , but this bike had soooo many warning and safety stickers it took me an hour and a bottle of goo-be-gone to get them off. That last one is covered up by the rack , so I left it on.

Thanks for the comment! I agree with the weight limit being way to low. I think it's one of those weight limits that will always be stated low for safety reasons by the manufacture. I think that's the maximum weight where it won't effect the handling of the bike. But that's just my guess.
