Thank you for showing and posting this video. I have installed hydraulic suspension set ups in both cars and trucks. Everything that I have done and learned was done by trial and error on my own rides. I have seen and used or built chain set ups but I was originally taught that the reason behind the chain was to limit how far the cylinder could go. I was told it was done to make sure that the cylinder couldn't over extend so it couldn't lock the cylinder in a fully extended position or worse, having the cylinder go far enough to fall apart because the part of the cylinder that moves in and out would be pushed out causing the ram to be pushed out of the tube, not sure if I'm making sense. I've never seen it happen but was told that it could happen without having the chain in place to make sure the cylinders couldn't over extend. Your explanation makes quite a bit more sense and I understand how it makes it easier to 3 wheel.

Hey man I seriously appreciate this video I've watched it 3 times already might not be the last. letting the info soak in and marinate. But how thick of gauge did you use on the bridge? What tall are you cylinders? And what Gauge is the chain? how long is the chain compared to your cylinders? the height of your cylinders yielded you how high of a 3 wheel? What kit/ manufacturer are you using?

I used to make that exact same drawing in 10th grade geometry class. I'd be using rulers and protractors to figure out my setup. My teacher was upset that I was doing it in class until I explained what it was and that her class was helping me figure it out. Def payed off 2 yrs later when I got my Cadillac

Great video buddy...I just got my first lowrider about a month ago - 93' Caddy Fleetwood. Been doing major work to it. I'll post videos on my setup shortly. Thanks for the behind the scenes/how it works video. I've noticed there aren't a lot of them on KZbin like it's some sort of close kept secret Like how magicians are...LOL.

RJ!!!! Thank you for making these videos dude! You're funny, give a bunch of legit information and most of all show video of your work. Most people just make a video of their vehicle hitting switches and don't go into detail of what they have done. I want to build a 2000 Lincoln towncar and feel a lot more confident in building a chain bridge now. So much info in these videos. Thanks a lot man.

@michaelmyers38927 ай бұрын
Well it's similar to the limit straps we used in our four-wheel drives, so it did not overextend the shocks, similar situation here so it does not overload or overextend the hydraulics it's a very useful and very smart safety item

Thank you for that video That explains a lot about chain bridges and what the chain's really do because I didn't understand it at 1st...I got a low rider regal and I wanna do a power 3 and I was thinking about just getting 14 inch cylinders and go for what I know but...that's a better Option

In 91 I had a candy green 64 Impala only had two pumps. Front back side to side so one day I got the idea of putting a lot of weight on one corner of the car in the trunk. I picked my car on all four I dropped the right side I picked up the front all the weight on the rear cause my left side to go up I was three Wheeling on 2 pumps

That's a great public service announcement I think the same way about people being under their cars with hydraulics it's a stupid decision and a quick accident if it does occur.. I've had my whole rear end drop to the ground cuz one of the tops of the cylinders burst there's no way you could get away from that..

I used 8 dumps to do 3 wheel it was simple to do for the wiring to the dumps I used diodes from the pump dump to the solenoid instead of a relay so it worked allot faster.

Hey RJ. I am looking at picking up a 96 town car soon. I had seen that a 2 pump with multiple dumps can be used for 3 wheeling. I noticed you said 3 wheeling can be done in motion but not on a stand still, due to the lack of weight in the back. With a 2 pump set up, do you think it may be possible to stand 3 wheel if the batteries were mounted as far back and into the corner as possible, or would it still not be possible due to the lack of leverage? Thanks.
@RJTickler4 жыл бұрын
Anthony Guevara it’s still not possible. Or worth it really. A third pump is about 350 bucks.

If you have tall enough cylinders in a town car you don’t need chains, and can do a standing 3 with just 2 pumps and 6 batts. The homie has a 96 and a crazy high lock up, no chains, as soon as he dumps one of those back corners, ass hits the floor and he’s standing a huge 3 wheel.

If you have a 2 pump setup with 2 dumps to the rear couldn't you just hold one dump switch while bumping the "up" switch and 3 wheel?
@RJTickler5 жыл бұрын
Ronnie Rowe you would need two dumps on each cylinder so you would need 4 dumps on the rear. One dump would act like a shut off valve and and hold pressure from going to both cylinder. Way more complicated than just running a third pump. Looks goofy too.

You can't standing three on less than three pumps only because of fluid not because of control of the two different corners he also forgot some people run a pumpkin chains instead of outer chains
@RJTickler4 жыл бұрын
hunterdep1 actually has Nothing to do with fluid. And has everything to do with controlling rear cylinders individually. Unless you have an x frame or a ton of weight in one corner you need to be able to control your rear cylinders independently from each other. You can run chains wherever you want. But 80 percent of chained set up today are like this.
