Never seen a guy who is a bitcoin convert and preacher as good as you.

ok. I consider myself tech savvy. Halfway through this, i listened with all ears and will rewatch it again. as this will help. We have a static location that can accept bitcoin so breez seems to be the better option, but it is best to learn the method of setting up a node for bigger businesses as this is next gen tech.

Thank you for making this video. It definitely provides the solution I have been looking for, however I remain concerned as these procedures are still complex and intimidating for non-technical people, I hope new simpler options will emerge, allowing rural sectors to implement and receive private and non-custodial Bitcoin easily. This video is going to be highly watched! 👍

Bitpay is not compatible with Bitcoin because you have to sign up for their wallet in order to make a payment.

Instead of using voltage would using a Start9 Embassy be possible and cheap where BCTPay, Website hosting behind Tor and other useful services are available?

Can i use btcpay on my node without the reverse proxy bit?

Great question! Yes, you can, but it will only be available on your local network or via a Tor browser. Not the normal web.

how can you receive payments into cold storage? Wouldn't it not be cold storage if that were possible?
@kriskord84942 жыл бұрын
Cold Storage just means your private key is kept on a device that isn't connected to the internet. Your private key isn't needed for receiving payments. Just for sending them. All that is needed to receive on-chain payments is an address, whether a static address, or a new address for each receive, generated using an xpub. There are, of course, some significant privacy concerns about using a static address, even if the private key is stored on a cold signing device. There are also privacy concerns if you use wallet software with an xpub on a device that is always connected to the internet in order to generate a new address for each transaction. However, if the private key isn't stored on an internet connected device, then it is still considered "cold storage", because the private key is what is needed to sign for any outgoing transactions.

Hey Jonathan, I am about to be a Computer Science Grad and I have been thinking about modifying a Dringk Vending Machine that will also accept Bitcoin as payment. I am very much intrigued accepting Bitcoin the SECURE way and I was just wanting your thoughts on weather I would have to manually accept the payment in order for the Vending Machine to function properly (Ex. someone sends BTC to a generated wallet address on a screen that is on the Vending Machine, am I able to have the machine detect weather payment has been sent? and, would I have to manually accept the payment before the machine continues its operation?). I would greatly appreciate your feedback!

Unfortunately Voltage's Standard Node service is now running closer to $30/month. That said I prefer to run my own node at home and learn how to manage liquidity on my own as well even if it takes a bit longer to figure it all out.

Fair play. I would love to do this for my business. Could you suggest any learning resources?

@@lukebaker8263 Not at the moment, other than perhaps more videos from this channel (including this one) as I'm still trying to learn myself.

Hi Jonathan, I've been following the news repeatedly on Bitcoin's lightning network. I am glad that I found your channel. your videos are great. Please can you assist me with the correct Lightning Bitcoin token to purchase. there are two listed on CMC. Thank you & keep those videos coming.
@Bitcoinftm2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't know what CMC is, but Lightning Bitcoin is the same as normal Bitcoin... it's just already loaded into Lightning Channels. The best place to buy Bitcoin that can be used on Lightning Network is Strike: jle.vi/strike (there's $10 free for you). If you want to do a 1-on-1 call with me, visit bitcoinftm.com :)
