@@jennyspacagna9414 so sorry, I only saw this now, you are probably sorted, but is it possible that was the wrong hard key that was issued to you with the vehicle? It should technically open the door?

Thank you for replying. AA man managed to get in. He showed me a little trick so I would know what to do in future. Completely flat battery. How I have no idea, nothing left on and I only drove it on Monday morning. He said if it happens again insist on a new battery under warranty. First time I've ever needed to call a breakdown service so I'm a bit gutted it's on such a new car.

@@doolanbrian they are aluminium wheels, but the wheel nuts are round shape, not the normal hex type The locking nuts are the normal ones, which I have a key

I tried to unlock my new 2024 Kona Hybrid using the emergency key the other day as the vehicle battery went flat after not driving it for 3 days (not impressed at all) ... it was very difficult to get the cover off. Ended up giving up trying to get the cover off and instead went through the boot and climbing into the front of the car and pressing the battery reset button to unlock the doors. Thankfully, holding the fob in your hand and pressing the boot unlock for a few second actually works when nothing else does. Not a very good design ...

@@michele2360 that’s interesting if the battery is dead, then the boot shouldn’t open as it shouldn’t have power.. so it doesn’t make sense to me, but it’s not easy to get the door lock cover off I’ll admit that alright

I just viewed this video to get into my Kona. I got a flat blade screw driver because manipulating the key wasn’t working for me. I think they recommend using the key to pop the cover is to prevent damaging the paint under the cover. We have decided to have available a stiff plastic implement to slide up under the bottom of the cover to pry it off. I had noticed the two latches on that cover are on the top and side meaning the bottom is for prying…just get past the exposed paint to not damage it. Your video very much helped me. Thank you.

Are you frikin kidding me??? Getting one on Friday...This is stupid, I'm glad i found this video.....what a stupid system, the shiv should be integrated with the keyfob like a eg Fluence and the lock outside the handle....how could they make such a great car and totally screw up the door lock system?

The key does not fit in to my rectangular cut out. Physically cannot go in… typical Hyundai.
