Just got sent away from a smog test because the tech said he was unable to remove the dog house. Went home, and with the help of the first half of this video i was able to remove it. So THANK YOU for this it saved me a lot of time, effort and potential money

Like the space heater idea. My 1991 Nissan hardbody is cold natured as it can be and with a new thermostat water pump radiator hoses it still takes what feels like forever to warm up. Been thinking block heaters but putting a small space heater on the passenger side floorboard to heat it up in the cold winter but been on the fence about it. Worried it my burn my old truck down.
@4WheelKid3 жыл бұрын
for sure, I love having it on when i'm in there working until I get my diesel parking heater installed. wow that's strange. is it the engine having trouble heating up or just the heater? could be a heater valve issue maybe. it's strange how some vehicles heat up super fast. my 4runner is blowing warm air in like 1-2 minutes even when it's freezing outside. my old saab took forever to get warm. this van takes a while to heat up and the coolant temp starts to drop if I turn the heater on and just idling, I think it's a thermostat because the coolant temp will drop when going down the mountain and not on the throttle. also the rear heater system is probably robbing a lot of the heat but ill be deleting that soon.
@fryreartechnology76113 жыл бұрын
@@4WheelKid my old truck just take a long time to warm the iron block and iron head at a idle but once I'm driving for about 10 minutes from cold it putting out heat and the temp gauge is starting to move otherwise it's slow to heat up idling. My 2002 BMW z3 M roadster heat up in minutes but it is also 11 years newer lol

I also have a 93 E150 Club Wagon Van 5.8L. I've been having iddle issues and irregular idling were even after is warm,the idle stays high. I have it at mechanics and got egr valve code and something about not getting hot enough for her valve to open. I have a 160° thermostat on it and a 3 core all aluminium radiator so it runs cold. I saw a video were the guy was having simular issues and change out a cat converter and 02 sensor that went bad and fixed the issue. What do you think..?

I had an exhaust leak on my Express 3500 and it was always coming through the seal around the engine cover. I tried to use extra insulation and stuff, but it never really worked. One of the many reasons I got rid of it.
@4WheelKid3 жыл бұрын
dang. are you sure the floorboards weren't rusted through? mine doesn't seem to get any exhaust on the inside. can't pick up any carbon monoxide inside the van while idling for long periods of time on my detector that is super sensitive and tells you the ppm. the engine also put out 0 carbon monoxide at idle during the emission test. I'm sure there was some but so low their instruments didn't even pick it up
@ridethroughlifertl3 жыл бұрын
@@4WheelKid Yeah, it's crazy. The van was really rust-free. All the original sound-deadening material was brittle and easily removed by hand. The Express has these rubber bungees that hold the doghouse on, and those were dry rotted and weak. That's honestly probably what it was. Just not enough pressure to keep the seal tight.
