Awesome video. Quick question. I believe in another video. Prime had two timing dots. Did you do a comparison to see how much more precise this tool will be? Thanks.

Two dots per cam, four total. They should be on same line.

I used the timing dots when I first got the bow. I only had to add a half-twist, so my position with the dots hasn't changed much at all. It was really close.

But on the prime one cam is bigger than the other does that tool still work for primes

Well I bought this little gadget for my nexus 4 and I don't think it works since the top cam is bigger than the bottom cam. Can you please explain how it worked for you maybe post a video from start to finish? This prime bow is the hardest to micro tune

what are describing is not timing, but sync. timing refers to the position of the cams relative to the limb during the draw cycle. you should ensure that both cams are timed correctly as per their marks with cable adjustments before thinking about draw stops, or you risk just masking a timing error. sync means the cams are correctly adjusted relative to each other. this is *not* the same thing as the draw stops hitting at the same time if you're setting one stop differently to the other just to make it look nice! the cams are in sync when you can put the stops in exactly the same place on both cams, and they both hit together naturally. the difficulty of achieving the latter with sliding stops that have no detents is one of the main reasons why cable stops are a superior system. as long as you put them into the same position on both cams, you *know* that if they don't hit at the same time, your sync needs to be adjusted with the cables.

What would the benefit of this tool be over using a vernier caliper?
@ArcheryTalkVideo4 жыл бұрын
A caliper can certainly work. But I'm thinking the V end of the Justo should provide a more consistent contact point. And it's a bit less cumbersome than a caliper on some bows.

Not quite sure if your going about this in the correct way because you didn't show us the draw board procedure. By the way you described the process Im going to assume the bow is out of tune even though the stops hit at the same time
@ArcheryTalkVideo4 жыл бұрын
When I put the bow in the draw board, the stops were very close to hitting at the same time. Added a half twist to the top cam and they were hitting perfectly. I couldn't show that, because my club's draw board is not working perfectly, so I have to keep my hand on the crank or it will start to spin like crazy. Can't do that and shoot video at the same time, unfortunately.

1.)Prime has a dot system to check timing at brace using an arrow or string.2.) your assuming the stop tracks are identical due to top to bottom cams being symmetrical where the Prime bows since 2017 have asymmetrical cams meaning top and bottom cam string stops are not symmetrical meaning they shouldn’t have the same value using this tool!

Exactly my point......my nexus 4 has 4 timing marks which are perfectly timed then I slid the draw stops back on the tracks all the way and the draw stops was off. I did that just to check. One cam is bigger than the other so not sure if you can use this tool

The Revolt does not have a sliding draw stop :) FYI

Right you are. I have too many bows and I’m easily confused.
