On the importance of asking questions. I had an initial interview with a company I am excited about and after 5 minutes they asked me if I had any questions even though it was scheduled for 30 minutes. Fortunate that I had prepared ~20 questions before the interview. It went very well, and I am doing my second round 2.5 hr panel interview tomorrow. I know if I had said "no I don't have any questions" the likelihood I would be called back is pretty low even though I am a good fit for this position I think. Thanks for stressing the importance of questions! I am particularly grateful for the question "What is the structure of the team like?", the answer to this actually made me understand what the job is.

Madeline, I wanted to thank your channel for the amazing videos. I just finished my master's and will be starting a job next week in an organization I dreamt of working for a few years. I had around 7 years of experience then I took a break for my master's and was on the search for a job, that matched my experience and expertise. When I got the call for an interview, I was quite nervous, to be honest. About 5-6 days before the interview, I started scouring through your channel and watched multiple videos, which helped me a lot. I prepared answers to questions, specifically as per your suggestions and some other websites as well. I prepared questions for the interviewers at the end, again seeing your video. I nailed the interview, thanks to the multiple videos from this channel! Keep doing what you're doing! You rock. My prayers and heartfelt thanks to you.

I've been searching for a new job for over 2 years now and the few interviews I've had I got terrible recruiters who wouldn't give me any time to speak, they never asked me the "tell me about yourself" question or really any questions about my experience they just tell me about the job and ask a question or two then immediately end the interview with me not able to get a word in and their tone sounds like they are bored, their sighing, and don't want to be there. Its so frustrating, I feel so hopeless at the end of the interview.

Again, if only this were true. I've applied all of these, especially the 'asking questions' which I do every single time (multiple insightful and relevant questions - but not too many obviously) but does it guarantee you'll ace an interview? Of course not e.g. because they've got other candidates who are also doing exactly the same thing, or because the interviewer has their own preferences and especially because there's only 1 position available. What works for one interviewer doesn't necessarily apply for all interviewers e.g. asking at the end of the interview if they can give you the job (another of your tips) is considered extremely presumptuous and arrogant by most interviewers. Also, they often don't react well if you ask back to them (in a nice way of course) what they want you to elaborate on. They'll simply robotically repeat the question so as not to give you an advantage over another any other candidate. As far as they're concerned, they're asking the questions (until the final 'do you have any questions' bit anyway) and you're there to answer them as given.
