How is one supposed to distinguish between a dependent and independent clause so the right punctuation can be used? I always struggle with doing that.

Hello. I am a teacher, and since quite a while I have been seeing this problem again and again in my students that though they have read the best SAT Writing books twice, and they can answer most of the questions in book exercises correct, they can't score well in the actual test. What should they do to bridge this gap between books and SAT writing? Would you recommend making notes or cheatsheet? If you have any advice please let me know...

The reason for the discrepancy between drills and real exams is drills tend to isolate concepts, but the test often requires application of multiple concepts. I'd recommend checking out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZLVlpJ3o8ytask. I discuss this prevalent problem and offer some tips on how to fix it.

In the first question why is it not b since it refers to snow and ice? Because I think you can only choose their for a human like for example :scientists. Correct me if I am wrong.

Should I learned grammars first or do diagnostic test first to figure where I am weaker on?
@PrepwithJen4 жыл бұрын
You can take a diagnostic test first to get your baseline, but chances are that you will need to study grammar rules.

I don’t exactly understand the topics or how to go about it in the college panda writing book. How am I supposed to study from it?
@PrepwithJen4 жыл бұрын
Each chapter starts with a short lesson followed by some practice questions. If you are weak in grammar, I would start from the beginning and work your way through the book chronologically, making sure to read the lesson before tackling practice questions on your own. You may also find this video helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZLVlpJ3o8ytask. I share tips on how you can maximize the effectiveness from your prep books.
