Great video - you got the link for those black sheets somewhere?

Top notch video as always. I would love to see a color oriented video. Showing the relationship between the color temperature of the lighting to the WB of the camera. And the grading pipeline to get to the final result.

This is great, I love that you are talking to us like we already know something (I have been in the industry for 10 years but still love to learn)

I’d love to see some backstage shots when you’re talking about floppies and similar topics. It’s hard to imagine what it all looked like when I only have the final shots to go by.

Love your breakdowns and I mentioned in another post of yours that is would be awesome if you had some behind the scenes with wider shots actually showing where your lights are actually placed. Diagrams are helpful but don't really "tell" the whole story. Thanks a lot for the breakdowns. I wish I could do more moody shoots for my advertising Clients but usually they want to see more of the clothing and textures which usually means I have to use more frontal lighting and cannot usually shoot on the shadow side which is more cinematic and pleasing. But I always try to sneak some quick shots in for myself for the "Director's Cut". lol

Yeah for sure, appreciate you! This is one of the older projects we shot where we didn't have much bts yet. But will definitely start to incorporate more of those. Yeah always a tricky balance with client work and director's work. Eventually it'll balance out and you'll get more moody stuff in there haha.

Do you use a light meter? It would be interesting to see a video explaining the process you use to decide ratios

Man, I need to try these setups, I just got a new monitor 7 inch so I’ll be able to see my the frame of the shot far away.

Great video, however, your contrasty side lighting, made the subject’s teeth more prominent. I know you wanna stick to your style, but each subject is a little different, you should have analyzed that the side lighting would make his poor teeth more prominent, and thus should have lit him a little more frontal with more fill to reduce the contrast on his teeth. Remember the lighting serves the subject and the story.
