Can you do a Mike Mentzer approach with only one set if you squeeze the muscle hard enough to failure?

I love that you asked this. You can, it’s the main approach I use with my suspension trainer workouts today. I even created an advanced 16 week suspension trainer Program based on Mike’s philosophises - The Full Body Athlete Program: fitnessfreedomathletes.com/product/trx-full-body-intensity-program/ no plug, just to show I’m a huge advocate of his teaching once an advanced level is reached. I do think it’s necessary to do lots of quantity before you can get to enough quality to achieve Mike’s HIT approach though. I don’t think it’s a good approach for a beginner to dive in to. Fantastic after years of training once technique is high and a plateau has been reached. I’ve found it takes your results to another level. Do you train with his philosophy? I’m a big fan of Dorian Yates for it too

They are kinda the same thing. The difference is that the gym rings have 2 anchor point while TRX has only 1
