I wish 3 changes to be made for Sparking Zero: 1) Make super counter cost SOMETHING. Having free combo breakers at any point is not something I enjoy. 2) Make vanish wars increasingly faster the more times you vanish so it becomes harder and it doesn’t take the entire time of the match. 3) Nerf Yajirobe lol

Flying kicks count as an overhead (or should), meaning the cpu didn't block it because it wasn't a high guard but neutral guard. Soo it worked since it doesn't need charging like the low sweep. False alarm unfortunately, it's still a reset

If an opponent is just trying to perception/super combo spam, watch for it and hit them with a super. Vary your timing with your combos. If you just mash square then of course you'll just get countered.

Pro tip: if your character has ki canon it leaves you at perfect range to dash, so if you're on the ground you could dash+jump above them+ then dash again immediately to flank your opponent from behind. If tou are in the air you can dash diagonal using ki blast to get their back 🙏

Please speak about the options in the episode game mode as well. A few things holding it back from running smoother is not being able to instantly retry any mission. As soon as a match ends, which a lot of times is random because of certain conditions, you can’t press start to replay and it sends you right into the next cutscene causing you to wait for an opportunity to: - press start. -character select or quit -click on the character -go back to the episode -skip through cut scene -attempt fight again. Some may ask “why you want to retry mission”. Well, sometimes to get the additional content you have to meet certain conditions. Beat an enemy within a given time, don’t take said amount of damage, finish opponent with said super, etc. If I fail at them before matches end then I have to take all those steps to attempt it again.

I feel like Super Counter ruins the fun... it should only work on strong attacks like vanish does. Maybe rebalance the damage so that the rush hits deal less and the strong hits that are vanishable deal more. There would still be an advantage to using the harder to time Super Counters because it doesn't cost any Ki. Maybe even increase the vanish cost to also shorten the vanish wars. That or incrementally speed the vanish timing and make the timing tighter the longer the chain goes to make it harder to keep it going for long.

I like to do a short melee combo, back up slightly and spam normal Ki blasts to knock them off guard a little, and go back into a combo maybe even do a vanish attack to reposition for the next attack. Short combos with a small defensive break work better then long combos that can be reversed on you

@@2SunLeeWuKong its unfair anyway. Anyone button smashing from behind in sparking knows a super counter is coming and when you know that you just vanish it. Then a vanish war starts and more likely than not the sparking mode guy will win cuz more ki. At the end he will ulti and it will come down to the opponents skill to possibly vanish it. I'd say not letting the opponent go into sparking mode is important in the current meta.

The reason why flying kicks help you extend the combo and makes it not drop is because fly kicks also breaks an opponents gaurd. Just another tool to help get through someone's guard

I think you can do ascending ki blasts on air, they are harder and tighter to do but possible. I come from bt3 and this game was and adaptation to it.. much more friendly for newcomers to the game which kinda takes the fun out of it, ANYONE can counter in this game most counters are possible just by spamming when in bt3 it was all about timing, thats why this game is easier in my pov. great video explaining these "fake" combos. they are just another friendly way to make the game easier for new players, which is good, but boring and a bit annoying for players with experience because everything is spammable.

I would do hard stunned on gutt punch, do light and heavy with the jump kick input, just mix it and continue doing the rush combo after two light attacks into heavy to blast them away into a hard knock down. Do supers. I would not advise the combo further to avoid being super countered. Would not even counter back in Z counters. I would let the opponent blast me away from there z counters. I be freed. That way, idont be into a forever on z counter vanishes. There is a second method instead of doing z countners after vanishing to do a normal rush combo instead of z counters. Required precise timing after vanishing from z counters and hold gaurd between the z counters. Where the player character would reset by blocking

Haven’t hopped into ranked too much but it seems a little annoying that the counterplay to supercounter seems very commital on the aggressor’s part and minimally risky for the defender while also being meter friendly for the defender. Maybe whiffing a super counter should provide some rweard on a read or at least reset neutral. Meterless, hit confirming, ambiguous and unpunishable reversal seems like a little too much for one move. Couple questions tho: Can you guard break if they super counter or is it very reactable? If reactable, can you at least fuzzy them with half charge? Can you grab it during attack strings? I’m all for long combos and I’m all good for combo breaks. But, I think a fair way to go about it is to favor the attacker for taking initiative but giving them the dichotomy of resets and guaranteed damage. Then, allow reads on both sides. The attacker should be allowed to try and be greedy but the defender should be able to reset or reversal depending on the degree of greediness provided the defender makes the right read on the attack. I like the idea that missing this pushblock would make you drop guard ‘cause I like that there are timing mixups in this game. Now, this sometimes devolves into endless 50/50s which is inconsistent and a little flat. That’s why I like pushblock a lot. Maybe let super counter be pushblock that rewards you for timing your block by easing the pressure but you do not take your turn back unless the attack mashes. This way, less defensive options have overlap since we already have sonic sway that is a very stylish reversal for defensive reads. Vanish wars should also maybe have the option to let the initial attacker pushblock the vanish attack to stop the war and reset. Obviously they should also increase in pace. This way, at least the attacker gets to choose to be greedy and try and prove they can win the vanish war to steal back their combo but also decide not to take the beef.

To balance the super counter being the best option all the time, it should reduce your max ki by about a fifth of a ki bar every time you use it. To get that max bar back, you should have to use other defensive options.

Does this game have different damage modifiers like the old tenkaichi games? Recoome had one of the highest defenses in the game in bt2.

1- Super Counters should not be spam friendly. They should also be harder to do and cost resources. 2- Vanish wars should be faster and cost more Ki. Combos should be POSSIBLE or else the game doesn't feel rewarding..

Yeah longer combos make you vulnerable. But ask yourself a serious question; Why make the combo short and do more damage when you can make your opponent suffer with less damage by not allowing them to play the game. I choose option 2 lol.

Honestly just make super counter cost some ki, like 1 bar of ki for a super counter so people can’t constantly do it (in MY opinion)
