How to get better at basketball..if you are doing basketball workouts constantly and not seeing the results you think you deserve it may not be that you aren't working hard or putting in the time, it is just you are approaching it wrong. if you can make these fixes to your basketball workouts you could see huge improvement..

Thank you so much for making this video. It’s the off-season so I’m looking to get better going into my freshman season where I can hopefully earn a spot on varsity. Variability is something that I haven’t previously had in any of my workouts because I was just doing the same stuff everyday. Since ballhandling is something that I need to get better on I didn’t realize that I needed to add different components to it instead of just doing basic things not moving. So thank you for this and hopefully I’ll start to improve much for than I previously had.

Thank you a lot for making this video I’m a freshman and I’m looking to really get better and get my confidence up I always had issues with going out and performing due to fear of failure but Everytime I watch your videos it gives me confidence to go and work harder next time I’ve been working on reading my defenders and handling pressure while on the ball do you have any drills or tips on how I can get better at those and as well as like tips for how to get rid of the fear of failure as a lot of times I find my self playing extremely safe since I feel like I’m gonna mess up please and thank you
@tjltraining

Glad the videos help!! And you have to identify where that fear comes from and then tear it apart. As far as how to better handle pressure play against defense and have someone try to steal the ball from you and play overly aggressive

don’t do things with the expectation of getting to the pros. especially if you’re an average player in an average area. get better for the sake of improvement and discipline and maybe play college ball if you end up being really good. basketball is probably the hardest sport to make it far in and the height and athleticism standard is very high. i’m not trying to bring you down just want you to have the right reasons to get better and maybe you make it pro off the work but if you don’t still continue for the love of the game

Tysm and I have a question. I'm training at high speeds because I need to get comfortable with that and I'm wondering what you think. I will pushing myself, almost messing up every time and when I shoot i will try to shoot quicker with good form and act like there is a defender. What are your thoughts?

If I want to get 500 makes a day and it takes long because I have to rebound myself but also want to add variability like you said, what would you suggest that I do so that I can get 500 makes while those are quality so that I can maximize my shooting improvement.
@tjltraining
@tjltraining 2 ай бұрын
Don’t need 500 makes especially if you want quality. You are just going for a number to check a box, if you could get 250-300 and get better results (which you would) aim for that as opposed to a trivial amount of shots

Try to record yourself, or better yet, ask bench/friend to record you while you play, then analyze it. This way I realised that after I make some space beetwen me and a defender, I push way too much to the side, instead of pushing forward.

i'm not sure i entirely understand. if you're supposed to focus on super specific things, how are you able to cover a wide variety of things if you're also supposed to stay consistent and not switch up your workouts? this is not a criticism, i'm just wondering.

It’s like the gym, bro, you don’t go to the gym hit legs on Monday legs on Tuesday legs on Wednesday and legs on Thursday and Friday. You’re not going to go to the gym and hit barbell squats on Monday and then hit. Bulgarian split squats on Tuesday and and then go again Wednesday to hit hip thrust.

Man, you need just add periodization in your training process Choose one skill, it's your first prioritet, and all month you should train this skill For example 1 month: 70% of time you're working on ballhandling (the most important skill in my opinion, because it helps to growth 'sense of the ball', which helps you shoot and finishing futher) 15% your shooting mechanic (just keep your techniqe as well as you can), 15% simple finishing drills just keep your touch around the rim 2 month: 70% - finishing some advanced variations, 15% - ballhandling, just keep your previos month work actual, 15% - shooting mechanic 3 month: 70% - advanced shooting, 15% - finishing, 15% - ballhandling And make sure you're working out at the gym enough to prepare your body for overloading at the court

Hey there coach, please i need your help from the bottom of the heart. So last night there was a detroit pistons game against the hawks and something unexpected happend. And that is when malachi flynn dropped 50 points🔥 OFF THE BENCH, this is absolutely crazy, can you please make a video how he did it and how can a bench warmer drops +20 or +30 points to prove my coach wrong. I live in morocco and there's no basketball quality in here and i am really sad. So i am a bench warmer who still haven't even dropped 2 points not even my first buckets and only play 1 minute in the 4th quarter, i have the worst basketball team and the worst teammates and my teammates just wanna joke but i am serious about basketball and i really wanna get better, sometimes they bully me and hate on me for being that bad and i really wanna learn cuz i swear on god there's no basketball quality in here, so pleasd help me prove my coach and shut my teammates up and become a valuable and a great team leader.
