Do the same thing except maybe go into a match with something in particular that you want to do during the match planned out and how you would implement that into your gameplay. Basically the process of taking a training mode combo or technique into a real match. Idk if thats a good video idea but i think it could be helpful.

As for this format I approve of this style because it shows us common situation versus certain character(s) and how you deal with the situation and further drives the point of this video of what we should take away/remember from the video on top of dismissing the myth that "online is not good for learning." Hey man! Love the videos. I've been learning a lot from you. I'm curious though, isn't ranked a good way to get consistently stronger opponents as you get stronger at the game? I personally don't care about my rank, I'll rematch someone as many times as they will rematch me, regardless if I'm winning every match or losing any match. I just wanna get better, and I know losing shows your weaknesses better than winning so losing doesn't bug me. Am I wrong in the assumption that I'll keep facing better players as I get higher rank though? Is there something inauthentic or counter-productive to offline play about playing with sweaty ranked rage quitters and the like?

Nice video! Thanks! I would love to ask, my main problem is defense... Like teching DR, Blocking 6m or crossup, what's a good way you recommend to practice those things in practice mode? I actually wanna improve my defense a lot, because i think that by blocking really good you can make the difference by a lot... And practicing offense and pressure is more intuitive than how to practice defense... Any tips/help? Love your videos btw !
@RathFGC4 жыл бұрын
I'll try to cover defense as its own topic down the line, but for now try this out. In training mode, record the thing you want to defend against, as part of a blockstring. Then record at least 1 or 2 others that start with the same exact blockstring (So you can't tell the difference), but have these recordings do other things afterwards instead of the mixup (you could do a frame-trap, stopping pressure altogether and resetting with another new blockstring, etc). Then turn all the recordings on and play them back on random. Practice looking for the thing you want to defend against and trying to react to it with the correct action. Don't be worried if you can't get it 100% of the time. Even eventually getting to a point where you tech just half of your opponents DRs (or block other mixups) makes a huge difference. I believe in ya. Good luck!
@kaielGL4 жыл бұрын
@@RathFGC Omg you answered! Haha, thank you a lot, that's actually what i've been doing these couple of days :). I recorded 8 files of gt (since i find his 6m the most difficult since he has 3 lows) and trying to defend against it in the corner, i made staggers, DRs, assists, and i made a rule that i can only block or tech, i can't 2h nor reflect... But i've been noticing something! I don't want to make this 100 lines long but... Maybe this helps you for your video if you cover this topic later, the thing is: *when im practicing it, im 100% focused on defending*, and that's actually a huge part. If im 100% focused on it, i defend a lot better, but in a real match, changing your mentallity from offense to defense in a split of a second is actually what's the most difficult thing to me! Because in certain situations im just not expecting a crossup/dr/6m/w.e bc half a frame before i was attacking, you get me? But maybe i just need to practice THOSE situations where im not expecting it...! Anyaywas, thank you a lot for the answer and all the good content! It made me a lot better and i appreciate how you work, my fav dbfz youtuber by far, thanks! :)

Can you do a video on improving reaction times or and tips on it?
@RathFGC4 жыл бұрын
This isn't a bad idea! but I will spoil something for you here. I think reaction times in general are mostly a myth. But knowing what to be looking for and where to look for it in different situations will give you the confidence to react more consistently. I think this is actually a really important topic!
@Kingdes1214 жыл бұрын
@@RathFGC A myth huh? Dragon rush and 6M are the main killers in my defense along with command grabs. So I should stop trying to improve reaction times and rather learn my opponents🤔
@RathFGC4 жыл бұрын
@@Kingdes121 I'll definitely cover this at some point soon because I think it is very important. But the main thing I mean when I say "reaction times are a myth" is that almost everyone's reaction times are very very similar (which is shown in tests like "click the mouse quickly when you see the screen turn red"). The people who react well to various things in fighting games are people who know what mixup is available and each situation and have practiced the muscle memory for the correct response so they don't hesitate when they see the thing they were looking for.

I don't think you can get under him without the dash in that situation. One thing that might help is using the dash macro. If you're able to hit forward + superdash at the same time, your character will perform a dash without having to double tap forward.

I loved this video except for the fact that since your facecam was on the middle left it was hard to see. I think it would have been better to leave the facecam in the bottom middle where there really isn’t anything going on except the dragon ball indicator
@RathFGC4 жыл бұрын
I'm so torn on where to place the camera ;_; The bottom middle definitely blocks the least amount of the game, but I always hate looking down there when I watch other people's streams/videos. For now I'll probably keep it where it is, but I should at least experiment with shrinking the camera a bit so it doesn't block combos so much...

It seems like a direct contradiction that you say you play to improve yet you don't play ranked. People in ranked are going to try harder than in any other mode because they have an incentive to do good, the more you rank up the more consistently you'll get matched with good players, and while not perfect ranks show you how much you imrpove. The fact that I play to improve is why I almost exclusively play ranked mode.
