1:50 it seemed easier to sell a t shirt than a canvas.. i can relate to that.. i spent weeks creating a print store for my art and for 6 months.. i havent sold a single print.. then i had this idea of turning my artworks into wearables.. im launching in two weeks and the reception has already been crazy😅.. thanks for this video., ill come back when im done watching

this has nothing to do with art and everything to do with marketing and design. also this is not unique or groundbreaking at all. it's pretty boring to be honest. at least it's upcycled though. there's literally millions of people since the 1970s and 1980s (hiphop, disco, hard rock, hippies etc) that do this same thing but don't blow up. in today's moment, people do the same thing but maybe the algorithm didn't favor them at the right time, and they didn't get the clothes on the right people at the right moment. his insight about the influence of covid and social media is really on point. even their classic smiley face looks like the Ron English smiley face (where the skull is visible) from 20 years ago.

I don’t think it was supposed to be portrayed as groundbreaking, rather just insightful for others walking the same path. You make a good point though - more of a game on how to market your artwork, and I think he touches on some good points related to that

The new canvas is the first canvas-- the human body. Our generation doesn't like to keep art on the walls we want to be the art. So yes...wearables trump prints
