Great video. I have been watching planner videos for a long time and I have never seen a video with this much content on a planner and how to use it. This helps me to decide if I need to use a monthly, weekly or daily layout. There are several take aways from your descriptions. Honestly this video is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Very clear explanation, and good for those of us who love the idea of a planner but tend to be a little scattered! Best takeaways: Plan ahead of time the specific details needed for an event or appointment, and check your planner a few times a day. Both of those tips make total sense and are essential, yet don’t come naturally to some of us. 😉 Good stuff!

Thank you! I am using my son’s name, but I am looking for that planner peace that many planner people have been looking for. Maybe this is what I am looking for, something that shows the very basics in planning first (the cake) then the pretty things (the icing) will follow in it’s own time and place. Looking ahead and planning for future things is like working with money, I never got it in school. Your kids are so fortunate to have a mother who is looking out for family...

Well! Way to go with this video! Like others I agree: one of the best rundowns of WHAT planning is and WHY you'd want to do it. Even though I'm a long-time planner, I appreciate and concise and detailed description. I'm a bullet journal-er, but the basic ideas and concepts are all the same (and I used a rings system for work for years). My only quibble is this: while I loved your title, it isn't really indicative of the content. Something more like Learn to be a Productivity Ninja for Beginners would be closer. Anyway, I'm impressed and I'm subscribed!

Hey! I'm a young homeschooling mom of 3. I recently came across your planner series and I love it! I'm someone who always used only a calendar for everything. It was on my kitchen wall and i kept all our appointments, etc on there. I would make sticky notes for daily tasks and throw them out when I was done but I always wanted a planner... however I never figured out how to best use it and they would always go to waste. I recently started getting back into it and I'm so glad I came across your channel. This content is gold! Great work!

I rarely have an event, so I put my reoccurring tasks and holidays in my electronic calendar on my cellphone and migrate them to daily pages on Sunday. I do have one page each week that I call my weekly dashboard. It is one page. It has a small monthly calendar which I highlight this week. It has my routine tracker and a section for tasks and a key for color coding. That's it. If I have an event, I either write it on the weekly dashboard under tasks, or a sticky if I haven't printed out that weekly dashboard. ... GASP! Yes! I use rings! I love the flexibility of being able to move pages around. Maybe if I had my system more refined, I'd use a bound or TN, but I like having the pages formatted ahead of time. It's a time saver. And making my own downloadable certainly saves money. I use a cheap cover and at the end of the year or if it wears out, I use it as my storage binder. I sew. So I make a beautiful cover to slip my rings into for some protection. One more thing, instead of scheduling tasks on a weekly basis, I keep an action list of things I'd like to get done this month and a futures list for things past 30 days. On Sunday I migrate the top 5-10 from the actions list to my weekly dashboard. I only move a task to my daily page if I've made some progress on that task. This eliminates a lot of migration. I only add new tasks to the weekly dashboard or actions or futures list. This keeps my daily pages less cluttered. ❤🌅🌵

What other things do you put in your planner? I like the idea of having everything in one place, or planner. I have different things on different clip boards. (Address and phone numbers, grocery lists at different stores, meal planning, my spiritual planner, bills to pay etc. etc. Your video gave me the idea to put it all in one planner with dash boards in between. I have used planners ever since I was 8 or 9 years old. I am soon to be 77 years old.👍 Looking forward to more of your videos.❤️👵🏻🐶

I liked your explanation on how you plan Father's Day. But how do you plan events like going on vacation? Do you start on a notes page with all the tasks and then schedule. I'm worried about missing a step, like decorating for Father's Day or holding the mail whilst going on vacation. With all the tasks all over the calendar how do you keep track of all them as I sometimes start planning for vacations a year a head. I'd like to see Joyce Meyer in February. I need to start saving for airfare, hotel, ground transportation, food, souvenirs, etc. I need to plan for closing up my house, what to pack... the lists go on and on. A video on how you hand these kinds of more advanced planning events would be much appreciated. ❤🌅🌵
