12:03 on your chore sticky note, where you write the chores for the week, instead of checking ✔️ them off, write the initial of the day of the week. M for Monday, Tu for Tuesday, etc. That way you'll have a record of which day that week you did that chore, if you ever have to look back. 💖🌞🌵😷

I have struggled with the concept that I'm cleaning something and expecting it not to get dirty again. With kids, it really is about just not letting it get worse (thanks for that thought! I wish I would have heard/learned that sooner). My boys are older now and they are helping me with chores, but it really still is about my thinking process and expectation that my house would stay orderly. It was much easier as a stay-at-home mom to keep on top of my housework. Now working outside the house, I feel overwhelmed because my time has been severely decreased along with my ability to clean and keep things organized. I think I'm the only one in my house that cares about that!

It’s so hard to be the only one that seems to mind, that’s for sure! But your family loves you and a simple heart to heart asking them to help you out might get more involvement. Maybe they wouldn’t clean for themselves, but for loving you they might pitch in more?

I loved what you said about “not cleaning so it stays clean” so much that I literally wrote what you said under my chore list so I can remember. It took a huge weight off my shoulders when you said that so thank you. I definitely feel like I’ve been stressing myself out trying to have my house look like Pinterest 24/7.

I’m with you on that! My house will never look professional or show room worthy, it’s too lived in. But it is clean ☺️

Thanks for another great video! I like to do the bulk of my cleaning on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday I am cleaning and resetting the house after the weekend and by cleaning Thursday I go into the weekend with a clean house. I usually dust and water plants on Tuesday and Wednesdays are for things like laundering sheets and towels or washing windows, etc.

I never thought of breaking it down like that. I really like that idea!

Oh! The habit tracker is a great idea! I have ADHD and need a very thorough checklist to do Pomodoro/sprint cleaning, but this means my daily task lists take up a whole page & it's almost all housework, and I get discouraged with my Bujo.

My other big tip is to find the one plug on each level of your home that you can plug into and vacuum that level without having to go back, unplug and move the vacuum. If your cord is not long enough, get a heavy duty extension cord sold at places like Lowe’s and H9me Depot designed for power tools that will easily accommodate the electric load. The other thing I did was made winding the cord up a fun and amazing thing for my little ones to do .....partly because I hate the way it feels in my hands do this.....

I enjoy how transparent you are with your life. I'm a homeschool Mom as well, and we have plenty of hands to help around the house. The struggle is real about not being able to "get it all done" and expect it to stay. LOL Thanks for keeping it real and showing how you at least try to get it done, but have realistic expectations. Have a great day. God bless, Jen

One thing I do to power through chores is: watch regular TV and do the chore during the commercial breaks as regular TV breaks are about 5 minutes. ... I also exercise during the commercial breaks... (Isn't that called interval training? 🤪 IDK) ... I think working through the commercial breaks causes me to sprint through the chore in a faster rate as I want to hurry and get back to my show! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷

Love this! I definitely want to work on my “chores”. Most of the time I do them all on the weekend, but I know I need to take some time each evening maintaining all the deeper cleaning I did on the weekend so I’m not disgusted/overwhelmed by the time the weekend rolls around again. Loving this video!

Good point. A little can go a long way for those major cleaning days! Every little bit counts 🎉

Keeping the supplies for the job as close by as possible is key to my cleaning. I clean more consistently when I don’t have to walk across the house to get a cleaner or a rag.
@AnnieSmithawifenmother5 жыл бұрын
Yes! This is key. I have supplies under every sink in my home to help with this.

This is a really good video! I like how you consider other people in other circumstances, your content is valuable for a range of people. When I first searched YT for housecleaning videos the search was overwhelmed by mom-results. While I am a mom, I need advice I can apply to my own situation - which is mainly just very busy with little time to hand in the home. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! I love the idea of the traveling sticky note with my chores on it. I'm not always a specific day type of person. I was when my kids were at home but now if I do something weekly it's not always on the same day. So I love the thought of moving the sticky note and crossing things off when I'm done. I also write the date I did it. Less pressure for me. So thanks for the idea.

It’s so freeing isn’t it? We just can’t predict those off days 🤷♀️😆

I write a dash through the day instead of a check mark in my tracker if something doesn't have to be done that day. So when I look at the tracker, I don't see empty spots.

Our family is busy every day with specific down time. So I really need to create lists. A master cleaning list and a ‘when did we do it list’. We do maintain the daily basics but not the detailed deep cleaning. And dusting ugh 😑 we need to do this! I forget all the time😬! Thank you for sharing, take care and have fun💗🤗!
