Yes, I have done Mosaic Crochet flat. I haven’t done it in the round but this all makes total sense. I haven’t followed a knitted chart, mosaic chart, but this all makes sense and very simple for me so thank you so much. I can follow thank you thank you.

Hello Sandra, wow! what an excellent tutorial. It encourages creativity. Would you please consider a tutorial for customizing an established mosaic pattern, say making it shorter or half the size. Also if you could give some insight on creating our own mosaic patterns. I've often wondered how to determine when a stitch should be a sc or a dc when creating a pattern and how to determine what multiple we need in a given pattern. Thanks so much. I love your teaching style because you make it easy to understand.

Curious ..... can this be done for any knit patterns??? That woulf be ... mind-blowing 🤯
@NomadStitches Жыл бұрын
you mean any mosaic knitting charts? YES! Although this doesn't apply to ANY colorwork charts because mosaic has its own rules. But mosaic knitting to mosaic crochet, hell yeah!

Would you do the reverse for adapt a mosaic crochet pattern to a mosaic knitting pattern?
@NomadStitches3 ай бұрын
Absolutely! All you have to do is remove the Xs and work the sl sts when the color of the st is different as the color of the row. I.e. on grey rows, you will sl all white sts and viceversa!

Hi - i have been looking at patterns to convert for crochet but am confused if there is a white square on the black row but the next row is to be white, but you need a black square above it - so like a checker board effect. Or is it not possible and the pattern has to 'connect' colours all the time?
@NomadStitches4 жыл бұрын
Ah! Yes, that's one of the disadvantages of mosaic crochet. Unlike tapestry or fair isle, you cannot have a single square on a row of a different colour. It needs to connect to the row above it. But converting mosaic knitting charts should be pretty straight forward. I am working on a new tutorial with the rules for creating your own charts, so stay tuned!

So if left handed it won't work if only works from right side?
@NomadStitches2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. You just need to follow the charts however it works for you. Most mosaic crochet motifs are symetrical, so it won't make a difference if you work them the other way around. And in this video, I just show you how to add the "Xs" so that you can use them in crochet. Maybe have a look at my other videos where I go through the techniques? Hopefully it will make more sense. xx

New sub. I crochet graphghans but I use wide single crochet or sc and it takes for ever and itsnt as clean as I like. Soni wa t to turn my designs into mosaic but I'm struggling on how to even do it. I don't know why it is so hard for me. I don't understand and have been Trying for months now of and on. I hope this video helps. Does anyone know if there is someone I could. Pay to convert my graph paper design into mosaic graph? Least one so I can understand
@NomadStitches2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It's not easy to transfer a regular graph to mosaic graphics. Mosaic requires for vertical lines to be an odd number of rows and there are times when you simply can't have a st of a different color on a row. For example, on A rows (rows worked with Color A), you CANNOT have a single st of B. If you want to have a B st pass through an A row, it needs to be connected to a B row below and above. That's why mosaic graphics are usually quite symmetrical and square. I hope this helps! Maybe there's another tutorial in there! x

Sandra is it correct to give a tutorial on someone else's pattern if we acknowledge the designer?
@NomadStitches4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Well, that's a difficult topic because I think it all depends on how much you share in your tutorial about the pattern and also on the designer themselves. So if you, for example, explain how to make a complicated stitch that is used in a specific pattern, I don't think there's a problem. But if you share how to make an actual garment or item based on someone else's pattern, then it might be considered a bit too cheeky. But that's just my personal opinion.
@andrealouis-visser497311 ай бұрын
Seems pretty straightforward. The knitting charts are not too different from crochet charts.
@NomadStitches10 ай бұрын
They're the same! It's only the Xs that we add to make them work for crochet!
