Thank you. For me, this has turned out to be an easy way to bind a quilt quickly. I just reverse the process so the "facing" becomes the binding on the front of the quilt. I'm doing smaller quilts to donate for babies and this method just speeds things up. Again, thanks.

Don't forget to sew your hanging sleeve on the top at the same time. Great technique, especially on reducing bulk at the corners. I love the look of a faced quilt.

This is a great method, thank you Sylvia I am using the method now, so would I put the hanging sleeve just under the top facing or on top of it? I'm going to sew the sleeve on last so I can get the facing to lay flat if I stitch it first.

I like your facing method. Especially the tip about clipping the corners from the back only. Question: How would you suggest hanging a faced quilt? I have an 18x18" paper pieced block I want to face and hang. Thank you.
@CandTPublishing2 жыл бұрын
You can still use the sleeve method for hanging your quilt. You would want to pin the sleeve in place before you sew down your facing and stitch it all down in one go.

very helpful! Thank you! wondering if you have any tips to help a quilt lay flat. I think I over quilted it! and now it has a little wave.

As long as you are quilting all the areas of your quilt about evenly, the density of quilting shouldn't be an issue. I'd recommend you try blocking the quilt-basically, wetting it and then allowing it to dry pinned flat. There are lots of great tutorials for this out there and it does wonders in getting your quilt back into shape.

Thanks for the clear instructions. What i would love to know is what that wooden tool is called and where I could buy one !?
@Jalama175 жыл бұрын
That's a bamboo point turner. It's used in garment sewing to do things like turning the point of a collar. You could probably make do with something you already have at home such as a chopstick.
