Hi Mark! Just revisited this video for probably the 3rd or 4th time. While I do enjoy the results you achieve with these effects, could you please explain the reasoning behind focus stacking and exposure blending? It seems to me that these Orton Effect techniques simply reintroduce the “imperfections” achieved by taking only one image. Why go to all of the work to achieve a “perfect” image by combining several together, if you then want to intentionally reduce the sharpness and clarity? Any help you could give to improve my understanding would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and keep the videos coming!

That was very helpful, thank you for walking through that process. ok now this doesn't have anything to do with the content but I cant help wondering about that lens on the shelf behind you, it's there in like every video. What lens is it? It kind of looks like a Canon L, but I guess it could be something else. Is there any reason it has become a permanent fixture on your wall? I guess it could be like one of those Canon L series mugs...

hi mark, I love your setting and eye for the detail in what is in your scene as you set your video up. I am always aware of the lighting on your back wall.. love todays soft purple effect, and what you have to your left. Today you have the usb fob and an old yellow walkman. Love it! Great memories though how you have managed to keep a walkman around all these years..... What are your thought process going into the props around you during your video lessons? Hi, thank you very much for your help Mark. I was asking myself .. do you go for some small adjustments in lightroom first like tone curve, exposure or whatever and then hit ,,open in photoshop" to add the orton effect? Or do you open the raw image first in photoshop, add the orton effect and then open that one in lightroom to finish it off? Thanks a lot!!
