When i have a shallow pool i do it this way, when i have a deep pool i pour it in the deep end and then brush

🚩🚩Putting that wet mixing cup in the CYA bucket is a huge NO NO!!

That bucket was washed clean and has been used for calcium for several years. Never had an issue with it.

@@BlakeDumas I wasn't playing dumb. I thought your issue was me reusing the CYA container with a different chemical (calcium). You're spot on about putting a dripping wet container with the calcium flakes. This channel is for novice/dyi/pool owners and I shouldn't be skipping steps or doing short cuts that I've come accustomed to since this is my full time business. Good eye 👁️👀

It's dissolved thoroughly as I add 3-4 parts water for every 1 part calcium. The other options are what? Pouring it directly into pool so the calcium flakes destroy the pool surface or directly into the skimmer so it destroys the pool equipment. Never seen or heard it done any other way.

I personally wouldn't do that, but if that works for you and you've personally done it then kudos.

Never poor any chemicals into the skimmer. All these chemicals are very harsh on the pips, seals, plastics in the pumps.
