Do you by chance have a video, or could you possibly create on that can show me how to add 1 to a number on a daily basis in a specific range of cells? for example if I enter the number 74 in a specific field... tomorrow the number would show 75 and the next day 76 and so on? Hi Jon, Is there a formula / rule to have a cell calculate a specific date based on another date entered into a cell plus 15 days? We would ideally want the calculated date to always default to the Friday before a weekend, if the 15th day from the originally entered date falls on a weekend. Is this possible?

Great question Marc! We can use the WORKDAY function for this. The WORKDAY function has 3 arguments that allow us to specify the Start Date, Number of Days to Add, and Holidays. The Holidays argument is optional and is typically stored as a list of dates in cells. If cell A2 contains today's date (12/27/2017), then the following formula would return 20 workdays from today with a result of 1/24/2018. =WORKDAY(A2,20) We can also use the NETWORKDAYS function to calculate the number of workdays between two dates. I will do a followup video on these functions. They are great ones to know. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year! :-)

I need to add a certain amount of years. I have a year(2018) in one cell and I need to add the number in another cell (5) to that year to show 2023 in the third cell. My dilemma seams to be with that number 5. In excel I got that number 5 with a VLOOKUP Formula so I am not sure if the Date formula is able to read that cell as "5" or if it's trying to read the formula. Good video, but can I ask a question? In my work we have Service Levels. So when request comes in, we have 28 days to deal with it. So say if I’m expecting a request from Joe Bloggs, when I enter into B2 Cell =SUM(A1+28) it brings up 28 Jan 1900 cause I have no information in A1 yet. how would I make a formula same as this, but I will assign also another cell not only the cell that I had to put the dates, but it will depend on 2 cells. Like if I assign A1 as the date a person should start a day for his quarantine, then the second cell will automatically, let say A2 will appear his 7day of quarantine as HARD QUARANTINE. Seems like a very flawed method of dealing with dates. How would you add a month to this? I'm just looking for a way to increase a value of dates (due dates for bills) without having to type them in manually every month and it doesn't really seem to be possible from everything I've seen so far without making some big convoluted mess out of things. It should be as simple as selecting the dates and clicking a button and telling it to add 1 month to the date. I guess this is too much to ask from a company that thinks the Ribbon bar is a good idea. I don't really care if it's there, but removing the drop down menus that made 99% of the things you need to do much easier than the ribbon bar was just idiotic.

It's kind of ridiculous for such mature software to not have functions to convert or scale basic values according to their type. It really should be possible to use =A2+DAYS(14) the fact is you have know that date values are days since 1900, is just poor design. Thanks for explaining
