Scratching over a beat is another TECHNIQUE of sampling (scratching adds more back beat to a vocal stab)

Will this work with a dj controller or do I need a dedicated turntable? Thanks in advance
@garrymccarthy71973 жыл бұрын
So if someone only wanted to scratch for sampling into a beat (not to DJ for events) technically you’d only need one turntable and a mixer right?
@beatsbycayso3 жыл бұрын
That’s what I was thinking
@garrymccarthy71973 жыл бұрын
@@beatsbycayso that’s what I’m thinking. Cuz even if you’re trying to scratch more than one record you can switch and overdub or add a new track within a software. I’m looking at that Pioneer PLX-1000.
@SlyDanger8053 жыл бұрын
One is all you need for the lab
@Kloppsserialbottlers2 жыл бұрын
Correct, you only need one turntable and a mixer if you're cutting for beats. If you google pictures of DJ Premiers studio, you'll see the one turntable with the mixer set up

Which turntable do you recommend to buy brother. Am on a budget😅

Also how do you connect it. You guys got to hand this information down to the young kids that came up on fl studio and a midi controller 😅

i know this may sound like a stupid question but i make beats and i know nothing about scratching. what are you scratching? how does this all work? you explained to just scratch for a minute or so but i don’t even know what’s causing the scratching sounds in the first place. thank you in advance man
@JusDOrange94702 жыл бұрын
I can't scratch like you. But i know it's the play of removing the vinyl with one hand and move the fader of the mixer with the other hand. when you have 2 turntables, the fader goes down with the level of turntable 1 and goes up with turntable 2. With one turntable it's just like the volume. when you go back with the vinyl you turn it off, then you open it too listen again. there are many diffrent technics. but i think this is the main one.
@curtiz577 жыл бұрын
ill try this out. can you tell us what it needs to make own scratches. im not sure which vinylplayer is the right one
@sownds087 жыл бұрын
Curtiz technical 1200mk models are the best as far as vinyls go but you can get the serato program and a CD j turntable also
@chillack77626 жыл бұрын
I can use a Numark NV

Cdj's are kinda expensive and limit the level of scratching u can perform. Technics last a life time but personally I'd say a vestax is the best to cut on, and way cheaper. Technics are silly money nowadays and even second hand ones hold their value and ain't ever cheap, cos they last decades.

So exactly what are you scratching 🤔 is a specific record you're using... are you sending the beat to the tables/serato... like there's a lot not being explained here
@jordanp8649 Жыл бұрын
there is A LOT not being explained here... he literally just showed everyone how he scratches with basically zero explanation. It was a showcase of what he can do is basically all this video was....

I have Logic Pro X and a USB turntable. How would I set it up? It's recognizing it but I don't know how to put my vocal sample into the turntable on Logic
@divyum97344 жыл бұрын
use serato, record your scratching as a separate file, and drag it into your daw. OR connect the turntable master output directly to your audio interface and map the input to an audio channel in your daw

a direct drive turntable with good torque, any simple 2 channel mixer with a fader between those 2 channel and depending on if your TT has a built in amp youll need to get one
