This is good enough for me. Had a sound file uploaded and working within a few minutes minus the upload to the decoder. Thanks. 👍

Thank you! I have a Rivarossi Berkshire that my hobby shop but a LokSound in and I’m not the fan of the sounds they used. The locomotive is working at the moment so I’ll have to fix it, but still very helpful!

Great Video! This helps a lot. You can download the ScaleTrains ESU sounds files from their website if you want the real ScaleTrains file.

@@UnionPacificFan there should be a tab on a locomotive you choose off the website that talks about sound files
@RacerAMX704 жыл бұрын
The decoder is “blank” and requires downloading the appropriate DCC, sound, and lighting file using a LokProgrammer available separately (ESU53452). The file can be found on the locomotive Product Page under the Product Support tab. I think you might have to be on a PC to see them .I don't see the files from my phone.

Hi, Enjoyed your video on LokProgrammer. Do you know how to program automatic horn sounds, so that your locomotive will automatically sound a singe horn every time it stops, double horn when starting to move forward and triple horn sounds when starting to move in reverse?
@SCL36183 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I've seen a few attempt custom logic to trigger that horn sequence, but it's something I don't use or know how to cover. This site- www.beemanscustoms.com/home is a great resource for tinkering with ESU logic, I believe he might have covered the auto horns.

Some useful tips there, but how do you add an extra sound slot if you don't want to overwrite any existing?
@SCL36183 жыл бұрын
Usually there are a few free slots in most files, but generally I'll just remove something I know I won't use often to gain the custom audio.

Hello, I’m new to DCC and decoders. I think i’m going to get a locomotive with DCC Loksound. I want to add radio chatter onto it. So how would I get the decoder hooked up to my pc to do this process? Do I put the engine on a track and connect it to the Pc?
@Ferrocarril_Chicago3 жыл бұрын
How would you do this on a LokSound Select decoder? The sound studio isn't present for anything earlier than LokSound 4.0.
@SCL36183 жыл бұрын
Lok selects are locked in, so you can't add any custom horns or extra bits to the decoders beyond what ESU published in a Select file.

Hey man. I enjoy your videos. I have tried this twice now using Audacity and following all of your steps to a tee. The problem is, the particular sound that I added in wav format starts playing the second power is given to the locomotive. It also just loops constantly. No settings that I can find in the lokprogrammer seem to fix this. Any thoughts? Lets say i have it assigned to F6. I push F6, dont push F6 doesnt matter, the sound just starts as soon as track power is applied.
@SCL36183 жыл бұрын
From how you described it, it might be checked to play in the random sounds options or when track power is applied. I would start there and give it another shot, or see where it's tied to in the sound tables. The method shown in the video plays the sound all the way through until you press the function again to stop it.

@@SCL3618 So I found the problem. All of the sound slots have a box that you can check and uncheck that is called "unlimited" When that is checked, it loops over and over again. Some sound slots, that box is default "unlimited" and the check mark is grayed out. In the end it worked.

Follow these directions and added a sound now I don't have any other sounds except the one I added. Anybody know what I need to do to get the sounds back?
@SCL36182 жыл бұрын
Check your volume settings. I've never had a decoder tank all sounds after adding, but anything is possible. When all else fails, CV8-8 to reset or try a fresh file.

@@SCL3618 I have the original sound file that Scale Trains sent me. I can forward the file to you if you want. You can request it from me at RACERAMX@GMAIL.COM. I think the answer to your question can be found in one of the ESU videos. The LokProgramer Function mapping one.
