Question: Why did you have the link the GoPro data to the GPX data. Shouldnt GOPro video file already have the gpx data embeded?

Greetings to all, great vid! Very informative! I have 2 questions though. A) i already have a foutage with a hero 6 with gps data and i am wondering i what type of format are the gps data stored in the gopro and b) is it possible by using the virb editor to import a map background on my gps (openstreet maps for example) in order to know visually where i have been. Thank you in advance!

Where did you get the gps data
@salsalawyer2 жыл бұрын
The data comes from the Garmin device. It's in a GPX or FIT file format.

There are so much confusion as to how to go about this thing. What happens if I stop shooting on my gopro to save battery and my bike computer(Bryton 530) is still on? It means, the Bike computer will continue reading while I temporarily stop recording, won't that be a problem when I press record again and the video and the computer/gps data don't longer sync? Secondly, I have a Bryton 530 bike computer. Can I use this to import data to Garmin Virb or everything has to be Garmin? How does the App sync with the exact place the video starts in order to be accurate? how about multiple stops I do while the camera is no longer recording to save battery, what happens to the GPS data then? I guess it will missync or not?

First, You can use your Bryton. You can import any .GPX file to the Garmin software. As far as using multiple clips, you may find it easier to edit all of your .GPX data in clip by clip and save each clip as its own file before you move onto the next one. Then afterwards you can edit multiple clips together into one video without having to deal with the hassle of splicing together clips in the Garmin software.

I just have one quick question, once you import the video, is it geotagged?
@DeviousWashere27 жыл бұрын
Ronald Salazar No. You must manually import the .gpx file and sync it up with the video

Is it possible to add the map view to the video?

Don Daugherty off the top of my head, I am not sure. I know you can add an overview of the track but I'm not sure about the map. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to

The software is Garmin VIRB Edit (Available on Garmin's website) and the platform is for both Windows and Mac. This version in the video is running on Mac.
