Love your channel and all the content. As a big fan of the comics way before he became as popular as he is today, I started my first Iron Man suit back in 89 with some moldable art store foam when I was 14. It wasn't pretty, but included some internal fans and push/tap lights. I later went on in the 00s to high quality Bat and Spider suits, before selling it all and taking a long hiatus. Awesome to come back to doing research on doing a quality Iron Man suit today and seeing all of the available tech and best practices available. Thanks and keep up the great work!

I just realized one thing. Making Ironman suits is a hobby in and of itself, and 3D printing is just a part of it. I have tons of these suits to print out now. I doubt I will do them all in a lifetime. I need to get a CR 10 S Max just to print Ironman. If I don't Batman and Red Hood and Dr. Fate will feel neglected. You teach the electronics and motors well. I really appreciate that now that I am dipping my hands into THIS specific hobby. This ain't just printing and finishing. To scale or not to scale? That is the question. Something is telling me to maybe look at the length of specific parts to allow for ease of movement. Starting my first one Monday. Oh my gawd, all this slicing is going to be impossible to organize. Lol!

Hey Frank, I’m in the Army and my MOS is a 91E. The MOS deals with additive and subtractive manufacturing and surprisingly at the end of my 5 1/2 month course there was 3D Printing and that would be added to the course at a later time. Since then I’ve been hooked on 3D Printing and you have inspired me to Print things for myself; I am about to start printing my first Ironman helmet. Thanks You for all the videos you post. I am struggling with 12v versus 5v power consolidation. I can't figure out how to power multiple lights with one power source/bank without light dimming due to amp output limitations. My EL tape and wire lights are noticeably dim when I connect more than one. I am trying to use rechargeable rc car batteries from Amazon now, but need the right connector to test that. How do you get around the amp limitation on power banks or your battery source?
@FranklyBuilt2 жыл бұрын
RC batteries or LiPo batteries aren’t really the best for this due for that reason. Have you tried wiring them in parallel vs series?

Great video! I've done lights in my Halo and Genji cosplays and I'm currently working on a Master Chief build that I'll be using lights for. My light work was barbaric before but it worked. But I can also recommend A23 batteries to people if they need a 12v source. I use A23 batteries to power my lights and I have it so simply that there isn't even a toggle switch, just pop the batteries in or out. They last the entire weekend at a con no problem.

Hey man! Amazing content as usual. I want to start planning out my mk85 lights to sketch it out and see what I need. Do you only use 1 crash works board to run all the lights on the suit? And if so which one? Does that also run the servos and eyes or is that a separate board. And what type of power do you need to run all that? For the looks of it in the video, it seems like it's one board and one battery running it all. Ty for the help

Would you be able to tell me which video you were talking about please? Also here you mentioned posting the codes you use to run your lights on a Google doc, but I don't see it on the video info. Hi! Love your content man. I have a question though. I'm brand spanking new to 3d printing, like I haven't even gotten my printer yet new, and I was wondering how I would spot if something went wrong in a print. There are obvious things like gaping holes where there shouldn't be, but how do I spot the more subtle stuff, and how do I even know if it's a mistake or not? Hope that makes sense.

I’m hoping to make an iron man suit and I was wondering, would clear filament at 100% infill be a good way to scatter the light from the led and make it look like the whole thing is a light source instead of looking like one led from behind it. Or is it smarter to do what you did with the infinity stones but with a clear or coloured mix?
